Effects of Religious Versus Non-religious Self-compassion Interventions on Anxiety and Quality of Life of Iranian Infertile Women: A Randomized Controlled Trial
AbstractAnxiety is one of the common psychological problems among infertile women, which affects their quality of life. The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of self-compassion intervention based on a religious and non-religious perspective regarding  the anxiety and quality of life of infertile women. A randomized clinical trial design with experimental and control groups was used. A total of 78 infertile women who lived in Yazd province, Iran, were referred to Yazd reproductive sciences institute, were selected by available sampling and rando mly assigned to two experimental and one control groups. The pa...

Testicular Cancer Survivorship and Fertility Preservation
Testicular cancer disproportionally affects men of reproductive age making fertility an important aspect of testicular cancer survivorship. Men with testicular cancer have more semen parameter abnormalities and a higher incidence of infertility compared to the general population. All treatment options for testicular cancer negatively affect fertility with recovery rates varying by treatment. For these reasons, clinicians should offer sperm cryopreservation, ideally before orchiectomy to maximize the possibility of biologic paternity, if desired. Several innovations have positively impacted this space including direct-to-co...

Live birth derived from a markedly large polar body oocyte: a rare case report
In this study, it is revealed for the first time that a huge PB1 oocyte can be fertilized, resulting in the growth of a blastocyst, a subsequent pregnancy, and a live birth. This new information prompts us to reconsider the use of large PB1 oocytes. More insightful talks should be given attention to prevent the waste of embryos because not all oocytes with aberrant morphology are unavailable.PMID:38619002 | DOI:10.1017/S0967199424000054 (Source: Zygote)

A New Model Including AMH Cut-off Levels to Predict Post-treatment Ovarian Function in Early Breast Cancer: A Prospective Cohort Study
CONCLUSION: This combination model can be used to withhold fertility preservation procedures in BC patients. Performing larger studies is suggested to further test this model.PMID:38619033 | DOI:10.34172/aim.2024.15 (Source: Archives of Iranian Medicine)

Cancer risk and male Infertility: Unravelling predictive biomarkers and prognostic indicators
Clin Chim Acta. 2024 Apr 11:119670. doi: 10.1016/j.cca.2024.119670. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTIn recent years, there has been a global increase in cases of male infertility. There are about 30 million cases of male infertility worldwide and male reproductive health is showing rapid decline in last few decades. It is now recognized as a potential risk factor for developing certain types of cancer, particularly genitourinary malignancies like testicular and prostate cancer. Male infertility is considered a potential indicator of overall health and an early biomarker for cancer. Cases of unexplained male factor infertilit...

Age-related increase in live-birth rates of first frozen thaw embryo versus first fresh transfer in initial assisted reproductive technology cycles without PGT
CONCLUSIONS: Overall LBR and CLBR were greater for first FET than fresh transfers with incremental increases in odds of live birth with advancing age, suggesting the presence of a more favorable age-related change in endometrial receptivity present in frozen-thawed cycles. For both DOR and MF cycles, LBR and CLBR after primary transfer were greater for first FET than fresh. However, this was particularly evident in older ages for DOR cycles. This suggests that supraphysiologic stimulation in older DOR cycles may be detrimental to endometrial receptivity, which is in part corrected for in FET cycles.PMID:38615016 | DOI:10.1...
