Emerging Roles of MicroRNA in the Embryo–Endometrium Cross Talk

Since their discovery, microRNAs have become prominent regulatory candidates, providing missing links for many biological pathways. This review aims to present recent knowledge pertaining to the diverse aspects of microRNAs in the embryo–endometrial cross talk. We will focus on the role of microRNAs in decidualization. Next, we will review recent studies investigating the role of microRNAs in recurrent pregnancy loss. A 31-year-old pregnant female who was at 16 weeks gestational age presented to the emergency room with severe right sided flank pain and low-grade fevers. She denied hematuria or dysuria. She had a mother with endometrial cancer and no family history of renal malignancy or congenital anomalies.
