AbstractWe tested the hypothesis that exposure of avian embryos to androgens in ovo entails long-term costs in the form of oxidative damage to vital cells and organs in adulthood. We injected zebra finch eggs with testosterone (T), monitored postnatal growth, and analyzed markers of oxidative damage in heart and liver in mature birds.
