Oral viral infections.

[Oral viral infections]. Presse Med. 2016 Feb 4; Authors: Parent D Abstract Exclude herpes infection in the presence of acute oral ulcers of unknown origin, particularly in patients in poor general condition. Remember that asymptomatic HSV-1 shedding in saliva may result in an oral-genital transmission. Perform an anogenital examination and a screening for other sexually transmitted diseases when oral warts are diagnosed. Search for immunosuppression and monitor the patient (screening for a potential associated carcinoma) when there is rapid growth of oral warts. Consider all the clinical signs (systemic, skin, other mucosa, immunity…) when a patient has an enanthem or oral ulcerations. Ask for a HIV test when an oral Kaposi's sarcoma, a hairy leukoplakia or major aphthae are diagnosed. PMID: 26854091 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Nelson, Christiane J. BrunsAbstractMore than 70% of gastrointestinal (GI) cancers are diagnosed with metastases, leading to poor prognosis. For some cancer patients with limited sites of metastatic tumors, the term oligometastatic disease (OMD) has been coined as opposed to systemic polymetastasis (PMD) disease. Stephan Paget first described an organ-specific pattern...

ConclusionsPulmonary metastasectomy is safe and effective treatment for well-selected patients with pulmonary metastasis of HCC. Liver recurrence at the time of pulmonary metastasectomy and the number of metastatic sites were identified as independent prognostic factors. The number of risk factors significantly influenced patient survival.

ConclusionsAlthough cardiopulmonary complications can accompany salvage surgery, the procedure is generally safe. Survival outcome is encouraging, especially in cases with good response to initial treatment.

Herein, we first report an antifouling photoelectrochemical (PEC) cytosensor by using zwitterionic peptide. The typical cervical carcinoma Henrietta Lacks (HeLa) cell was chosen as a target model and the aptamer AS1411 was used as its recognition element. TiO2 nanoparticles (NPs) and ZnIn2S4 nano...

CONCLUSIONS SOX18 downregulation in HCC cells suppressed cell viability and metastasis, induced cell apoptosis and hindered the occurrence and progression of tumor cells by participating in the EMT process and regulating the autophagy signaling pathway AMPK/mTOR.
