ConclusionsOur data suggest that GLP-1RA do not affect tacrolimus levels or transplant outcomes in solid organ transplant (SOT) recipients in the short term. GLP-1RA also seem to be as effective in SOT recipients for glycemic control and weight loss as in the non-transplant population with diabetes.

Abstract PURPOSE OF REVIEW: Since 2014, the liver transplant community has been debating the pros and cons of broader sharing. Over the last 6 years, lung and heart transplantation have moved to broader sharing based on 'zones' or circles around a donor hospital, with the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) approving a broader kidney sharing proposal in December of 2019 (set to be implemented in December 2020). RECENT FINDINGS: In 2017, the OPTN Board of Directors approved a broader sharing policy in liver transplantation that was rooted in expanding the first-line of liver sharing beyond the...

ConclusionsThe contribution of our study was the finding that ethno-religious and psychosocial variables have a positive effect on four dimensions of HRQOL. It may be useful to design psychological support interventions specifically adapted to patients after organ transplantation that aim at enhancing patients' HRQOL and alleviating negative emotional responses.

In conclusion, this study suggests that epigenetic age acceleration is significantly associated with lung function in women older than 50 years. We hypothesised that this could be due to menopause. However, we have observed that menopause has minimal effect and therefore there is possibility of other unknown physiological factors at older age in females mediating the epigenetic age acceleration effect on lung function. While, it is still unknown what exactly epigenetic aging from DNA methylation measures, this study suggests it can be utilised as one of the important factors to assess women's lung health in old age. DNA me...

Authors: Imko-Walczuk B, Roskosz-Stożkowska M, Szymańska K, Kadylak D, Dębska-Ślizień A Abstract Skin cancer is the second most common complication of organ transplantation in children. The frequency of skin cancer incidence after organ transplantation is different in paediatric and adult populations. The post-transplant lymphoproliferative disease is the most common group of malignancies after organ transplantation in paediatric population. The majority of researchers who examined children with kidney, liver, heart or lungs grafts observed that the risk of skin cancer was three times higher than in the genera...

Conclusions. Pediatric solid organ transplant recipients demonstrate worse overall EF skills and deficits in working memory, processing speed, attentional control, and metacognitive skills. Many children who have undergone solid organ transplantation will require additional support in medical and academic settings because of deficits in various EF domains.

Conclusions. This series is the first description of amyloidosis post solid-organ transplant; 30 cases among 5112 amyloid patients>24 years suggests that amyloidosis may occur post solid-organ transplantation with an overall poor survival.

Conclusions. This is the first nationwide survey of HEV infection in Japanese heart and kidney transplant recipients. The prevalence of anti-HEV IgG and HEV RNA in heart and kidney transplant recipients in Japan was lower than that in European countries. Of note, 42% of viremic transplant patients developed chronic hepatitis.

Authors: Miranda LE, Mente ED, Molina CA, Albuquerque AA, de Nadai TR, Arcêncio L, Basile-Filho A, Evora PR Abstract The nitric oxide/cyclic guanosine monophosphate (NO/cGMP) pathway has a significative influence in hemodynamic changes that occur in transplants. Classically, the ischemia-reperfusion syndrome (IRS) is characterized by hypotension and low vascular resistance, when cGMP and nitric oxide (NO) are increased, contributing to oxidative stress, within an inflammatory context. These mechanisms occur in several types of transplants, such as liver, heart, lungs, kidney, which are a therapeutic choice in...
