Middle East FRSD vs FH experience
Hey everyone, Trying to keep this anonymous as possible, but I’m an army reservist being deployed to either an FRSD or Field Hospital later this fall in the ME. What expectations should I have for the deployment, and any tips you can give from your own experiences? Excited to finally have this opportunity. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

RFU vs SIU
Hi everyone! I am experiencing decision paralysis, so I hope that this community can provide some insight. Rosalind Franklin Pros Opportunities to rotate in Chicagoland hospitals Slightly more well-known More hope in this location to be close to my boyfriend next year (although he has not yet applied to med school, there are plenty of programs in the area that he could end up at) Cons Significantly more expensive (although-- is there any chance for... Why aren't we educating residents about.....
The difference between SDG, CMG, hospital employment? At my "power house" 4 year academic residency, we received not one hour regarding this. Is it that they just have no idea? Don't care? Want to push all the residents into academics? Are ignorant? Combo of all the above? I worked a bit of moonlighting at a community 3 year program w ties to one of the big anti-CMG voices in EM, and they seemed to get it more, but jeez we are really failing the residents. OU-HCOM (OOS) vs DMU (IS)
Hi! I currently have acceptances to both of these schools and am trying to figure out which one would be the better choice. For reference, I am thinking of going into internal medicine for residency. Since I am OOS for OU-HCOM, the tuition would be similar between the two. OU-HCOM Athens Pros: Pass/fail grading Public Matches well into internal medicine Exceptional accreditation Opportunity to rotate at teaching hospitals Cons: Mandatory attendance... Administrators meddling in OR operations
This is mostly for the more seasoned folks with admin experience..... Having ran ORs/Led a few departments of varying sizes the issue of administration (ie CMOs, CEOs, etc.) and some "protected" surgeons (who are plugged into the hospital board etc) meddling in OR operations thinking they have the answers and pushing chairs, floor runners etc etc around is (IMO) is a growing trend across the board.... for those who were able to successfully mitigate this I am curious to hear as to how it... Mount Sinai vs. NYU GLISOM
Hi everyone, I’m very grateful to have these two programs as options, and I’ve pretty much narrowed down my schools to these two options. Please let me know what you think NYU GLISOM Pros: - MD in 3 years. I actually love this and am totally okay with the accelerated program -Free tuition. Obviously so nice to not have to worry about debt -Guaranteed residency match at NYU Li hospital -In a peaceful area but can get to the city in 30 min whenever I want -Much better culture. I’m...
