Hospital Subsidies For DR
Has anyone heard of hospitals subsidizing DR groups for coverage or offering pay per click at a premium/higher than standard reimbursement rate for reading their studies? Everyone is talking about how great the job market is, but with reimbursement continuously falling and radiology profit being directly tied to how much/what is read im worried that were heading towards a cliff regarding pay. You'd hope that with demand for radiologists far exceeding the supply, something would eventually... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

The C/L Bashing Thread
I've posted variably in the depths of this forum my disdain for C/L. Applause for Glaucomflecken again. This skit encapsulates the pain of C/L, and when a resident the attendings telling you to just please the primary services and just go do the consult. The time I wasted in residency with consults for "patient cried" etc. This skit just brought flash backs. "patient is schizophrenic" <--stable, no symptoms, regular med compliance, in hospital for surgery or something... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

WCUCOM vs WesternU COMP
I would appreciate any help in deciding between the two WCUCOM Pros - Cheaper Tuition (47k) - Cheaper Rent (Student Housing: 255/mo) - True P/F (May be a con) - Most of the hub site hospitals have their own residency programs Cons - In Mississippi: Requires moving, far from family - Rotations at hubsites that likely require moving again (Most in the south, 1 in New York; some sites are application based) - Have to start over in terms of research and volunteering WesternU Pros - In CA... Pay to Play
I've noticed a few hospitals recently that have tried to enact a "credentialing fee". Basically, you take a job, they send you the paperwork, and they ask you to submit a $250 (in both instances) fee to get credentialed and go to work. In both instances, I've told the facility to take their job and stick it where the sun doesn't shine. I hope all of you will have the same reaction. This isn't a pay to play field and I find the entire concept obscene. (Source: Student Doctor Network)
