Hinsdale IL? And other near Chicago groups?
Long time since being on here but thought maybe someone can provide honest answers.
Any opinions on the trajectory of the group located in Hinsdale, Illinois?
All I know is that Northstar or some other AMC failed like 5-6 years ago and some of the old group is back in. Sort of worrisome that the hospital already tried this with the group and could do it again to them.
And is their lifestyle (not compensation) good for someone looking to live in the West Loop? I’ll take less for less calls...

Backing out of signed employment contract
May be having a change of heart 4 months later and I don't see it it in the contract far but if I signed an employee contract through a big hospital system would I be able to back out without any legal repercussion? Medical College of Wisconsin vs. Wake Forest
Hello everyone,
I am deciding between these two schools and need some help. I currently live in Milwaukee where MCW is located and I am interested in pursuing ophthalmology.
MCW pros:
- Extremely well regarded in Milwaukee and Wisconsin
- Froedtert Hospital/health system is massive with just about every sub-specialty. MCW is within the hospital campus which would make shadowing easy

So our notortiously understaffed and underresourced inner city ED just hired a new chairman who previously worked at the well resoured Ivy league ED across town. Hey Guys, i am in the process of interviewing for 2025 GI job.
I was wondering if anybody had the latest MGMA data about median/75th percentile wRVU and and the median/75th percentile compensation. I am located in the Midwest.

What to list MLT as on AMCAS application
Worked as a MLT in a hospital specializing in hematology and microbiology testing for almost 2-years. Preformed CBC and manual diffs, helped in bone marrow biopsy, read microbiology plates and preformed susceptibility testing, etc. Very little patient interaction, but consistent interactions with physicians. Applying in the 2024-2025 cycle and was told by my masters program advisor to list the MLT as research/lab, but I am unsure if that counts as true research as it is not hypothesis driven...

Cold emailing research
M1, there is a waitlist for the faculty research at my school and the other offered programs only have a handful of spots.
I met a resident on campus and we discussed some plans but they are extremely busy.
Who do I even contact at local hospitals to cold email for research and how do I get their information?
I have a year of research from undergrad that resulted in a poster publication.

HCA hospitalist
I've heard the horror stories, but what's the truth about working for an HCA hospital as a hospitalist these days? What if it's through a staffing agency rather than HCA itself? The contract looks good and the patient load is OK from what I have been told.
