Assessment of fatigue and its impact in chronic liver disease
Patient reported outcomes (PROs) such as health related quality of life (HRQL) are important outcome measures for patients with chronic liver diseases (CLDs). Presence of cirrhosis and advanced liver disease have been associated with worsened HRQL and fatigue. On the other hand, some patients with earlier stages of CLD such as primary biliary cholangitis (PBC), chronic hepatitis C viral infection (HCV) and Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD), also experience fatigue causing PRO impairment. Serum vitamins and homocysteine levels in autoimmune liver disease: A systematic review and meta ‐analysis

ConclusionIn an Asian country endemic for viral hepatitis, the female-to-male and baseline cirrhosis rates of AIH patients were lower than expected, while over 60% of the patients eventually developed cirrhosis. The high posttherapy relapse rate warrants cautious monitoring, particularly for patients with high baseline Alk-p levels. Baseline age, cirrhosis status and ANA titers are crucial for outcomes. The emerging therapies are reshaping the first-line treatment for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma: a systematic review and network meta-analysis
CONCLUSION: Compared with sorafenib and lenvatinib, combination therapies based on ICIs significantly improved the prognosis of advanced HCC and demonstrated similar safety. Clinical and laboratory profile of Expanded Dengue Syndrome: experience of 2019 outbreak from Dhaka, Bangladesh
CONCLUSION: In the year 2019, an unusual rise in EDS cases with about 15.4% fatalities were observed in this study. Hepatitis was the most common presentation and cause of death. Here, we report the first ARDS case encountered in Bangladesh. Despite the multifaceted presentation of EDS, indiscriminate use of antibiotics and steroid was minimal. Early recognition of multifarious features of EDS is important for choosing the targeted treatment option which can avert many deaths. Spontaneous clearance of serum HCV-RNA after splenectomy in a patient with HCV-related liver cirrhosis and portal hypertension: a case report
CONCLUSIONS: We have presented a case of spontaneous clearance of HCV-RNA after splenectomy in a patient with cirrhosis and portal hypertension. Splenectomy may be associated with disappearance of HCV-RNA based on previous reports.
