Diabetic gastroparesis: a disease for which long-term therapeutic benefits are difficult to obtain
Endokrynol Pol. 2024 Mar 18. doi: 10.5603/ep.97086. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe pathophysiology of diabetic gastroparesis (DGP), a common complication in diabetic patients, is not fully known. Its development has been linked to several causes, including hyperglycaemia, vagal nerve dysfunction, aberrant Cajal's interstitial cell network (ICC), lack of nerve nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) expression in the intermuscular plexus, and hormonal alterations in the gastrointestinal tract. Glucose management, diet control, gastric stimulants, anti-emetic medications, Helicobacter pylori eradication, stomach electrical stimulati...

Clinicopathological features and mucosal microbiota in gastric mucosal damage between nodular and non-nodular gastritis in children with Helicobacter pylori infection
In conclusion, NG group exhibited significant severe inflammation and reduced abundance levels of several bacterial genera compared to the non-NG group. However, individuals with NG did not have a dysregulated microbial community with genotoxic potential.PMID:38493689 | DOI:10.1016/j.intimp.2024.111813 (Source: International Immunopharmacology)

CD4+ T cell count and HIV-1 viral load dynamics positively impacted by H. pylori infection in HIV-positive patients regardless of ART status in a high-burden setting
ConclusionOur study demonstrates thatH. pylori co-infection was associated with higher CD4+ T cell count and lower HIV-1 viral load in HIV-positive patients, regardless of ART status. These findings show a positive effect ofH. pylori co-infection on the dynamics of HIV-related immunological and virological parameters. Further studies are needed to elucidate the underlying mechanisms of the observed effects. (Source: European Journal of Medical Research)

High expression of TRIP13 is associated with tumor progression in H. pylori infection induced gastric cancer
CONCLUSION: Our study suggested that high expression of TRIP13 can promote the proliferation, cell cycle in GC cells, which could be used as a biomarker for H. pylori infection GC.PMID:38492425 | DOI:10.1016/j.mrfmmm.2024.111854 (Source: Cell Research)

Causal association between helicobacter pylori and atherosclerosis: a two-sample Mendelian randomization
CONCLUSIONS: This MR study discovered a causal link between H. pylori and AS. Different antibodies have different effects, so future researches are needed to figure out the exact mechanisms behind this link.PMID:38491418 | DOI:10.1186/s12872-024-03823-0 (Source: Atherosclerosis)

Role of Helicobacter pylori virulence factors and alteration of the Tumor Immune Microenvironment: challenges and opportunities for Cancer Immunotherapy
Arch Microbiol. 2024 Mar 15;206(4):167. doi: 10.1007/s00203-024-03908-6.ABSTRACTVarious forms of malignancies have been linked to Helicobacter pylori. Despite advancements in chemotherapeutic and surgical approaches, the management of cancer, particularly at advanced stages, increasingly relies on the integration of immunotherapy. As a novel, safe therapeutic modality, immunotherapy harnesses the immune system of the patient to treat cancer, thereby broadening treatment options. However, there is evidence that H. pylori infection may influence the effectiveness of immunotherapy in various types of cancer. This association ...

Association of Helicobacter Pylori in Chronic Tonsillitis
The objective of the study was to detect the presence of Helicobacter pylori in adenotonsillar tissue and to assess the association between the presence of H pylori with Chronic Tonsillitis or Adenotonsillitis. This was a cross sectional study conducted among 60 patients diagnosed with chronic tonsillitis and adeno tonsillitis undergoing tonsillectomy or adeno tonsillectomy meeting the paradise criteria in a tertiary care hospital, Pondicherry. Rapid urease test was done in the intraoperative period immediately after the specimens were taken. The rapid urease test kit was observed for color change from yellow to pink within...
