Helicobacter pylori secretary Proteins-Induced oxidative stress and its role in NLRP3 inflammasome activation
This study evaluates the role of H. pylori secreted concentrated proteins (HPSCP) related oxidative stress role in NLRP3 inflammasome activation and macrophage differentiation. To perceive the role of ROS/RNS, THP-1 and AGS cells were treated with 10 μM diphenyleneiodonium (DPI), 50 μM salicyl hydroxamic acid (SHX), 5 μM Carbonyl cyanide-4-(trifluoromethoxy) phenylhydrazone (FCCP), which are specific inhibitors of NADPH oxidase (NOX), Myeloperoxidase (MPO), and mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation respectively. Cells were also treated with 10 μM of NOS2 inhibitor l-NMMA and 10 μM of N-acetyl cysteine (NAC), a free ...

Immunoglobulin G-mediated food intolerance and metabolic syndrome influence the occurrence of reflux esophagitis in < em > Helicobacter pylori < /em > -infected patients
CONCLUSION: Patients with IgG-mediated food intolerance and metabolic syndrome were at higher risk of developing reflux esophagitis, while patients with H. pylori infection were at lower risk. IgG-mediated food intolerance reduced the risk of reflux esophagitis pathogenesis in patients with H. pylori infection; however, metabolic syndrome increased the risk of patients with H. pylori infection developing reflux esophagitis.PMID:38516244 | PMC:PMC10950645 | DOI:10.3748/wjg.v30.i8.855 (Source: World Journal of Gastroenterology : WJG)

Chinese National Clinical Practice Guidelines on the Prevention, Diagnosis, and Treatment of Early Gastric Cancer
CONCLUSIONS: This CPG can lead to optimum care for patients and populations by providing up-to-date medical information. We intend this CPG for widespread adoption to increase the standard of prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of early gastric cancer; thereby, contributing to improving national health care and patient quality of life.PMID:38515297 | DOI:10.1097/CM9.0000000000003101 (Source: Chinese Medical Journal)

Novel carbonic anhydrase inhibitors for the treatment of < em > Helicobacter pylori < /em > infection
Expert Opin Investig Drugs. 2024 Mar 22. doi: 10.1080/13543784.2024.2334714. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTINTRODUCTION: Helicobacter pylori, the causative agent of peptic ulcer, gastritis and gastric cancer encodes two carbonic anhydrases (CA, EC 4.2.1.1) belonging to the α- and β-class (HpCAα/β), which have been validated as antibacterial drug targets. Acetazolamide and ethoxzolamide were also clinically used for the management of peptic ulcer.AREAS COVERED: Sulfonamides were the most investigated HpCAα/β compounds, with several low nanomolar inhibitors indentified, some of which also crystallized as adducts with H...
