They took men with PSA failure after prostatectomy and performed a placebo-controlled, double-blind trial of prostate bed XRT with or without 24 months of biclutamide.
12 year OS = 76% with biclutamide, 71% without
Similar statistically significant results were seen when looking at prostate cancer specific survival and development of metastatic disease.
The main side effect was gynecomastia.

why do you get inc estrogen in cirrhosis
Is it b/c of the decreased synthesis of SHBG? Liver dysfunction leading to low SHBG synthesis--> Low SHBG conc --> Increases free estrogen --> causes spider nevi, gynecomastia, testicular trophy??? (Source: Student Doctor Network)
