NutMMeg and The Spice Girls at the OWWlyMMpics: Game Thread
Ahem. Every four years (unless there’s a pandemic), the world comes together in unity to spectate the most fantastic display of raw talent: the Owwlymmpics! Is this non-clinical volunteering good enough?
Hey all, I just had a question regarding non-clinical volunteering, and after cruising the threads on here I couldn't really get a great answer so I figured I'd just ask. Without getting too far in the weeds, I'm an assistant coach for my former high school's cross country teams (both girls and guys). I've got close to 350 hours so far as I've been assisting in a limited capacity (maybe 20-30 hours) since my graduation from college (2016), but this year I've racked up a ton of hours since... Breakups common?
Hey guys, not sure if this is the best place to ask but something that's been looming on my mind for a while. My GF is gonna be across the country and we're planning on a LDR as I start med school this upcoming fall. This doc who's my mentor and who I work for told me start looking for a girl in med school and that break-ups are super common when doing LDR. This has definitely gotten me worried. I'm definitely someone who benefit from the extra social support (which I won't be having much... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Taking MCAT while on my Menses?
Just found out that I will be taking my MCAT on Day 2 of my period! As my fellow period-havers know, it loves to show up on important dates, like your birthday, Christmas, your finals, etc.... I tend to get really ugly cramps Day 2. Also, will proctors be mean about using pads? I really don't want to use a tampon or a cup but I don't want to be accused of writing the formula for molality on the inside of my maxi pad or something. Girls who have done it before, what are your tips? I am... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Singles AKA non-breeders/no desire to have a family thread
Well, since we seem to be the minority here, just wanted to give a shout out to my single/"non-breeder"/no desire to have a family RPhs out there on SDN... For some of us, we view the whole marriage, raising children, etc. thing as imprisonment What does everyone enjoy doing with time off/not being chained to a family? Acquiring/learning new skills? Thinking about doing a social experiment wearing a wedding ring...hopefully I'll stop having youngin girls awkwardly staring at me all the... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

WAMC Class of '26: Looking for Advice
Hi, I’m a 21 y/o girl from Hawaii, currently a junior at Logan University. This would be my first cycle applying. I am interested in applying to Washington State, Oregon State, and Colorado State but open to looking at more. All of those states have a contract with Hawaii to make my tuition cheaper though. I’m most likely going to go into small animal practice but honestly would like a mixture of both large and small. I would also like to specialize in orthopedics. Cumulative GPA: 3.9... Complicated WAMC - school list? Additional activities?
Just looking for some advice for next years cycle. Undergrad was interesting for me. I took about 8 years to graduate. I started school and then left for a two year mission for my church. Then I came back and did a two semesters and then moved to Brazil for a year and a half because I got married to a Brazilian girl and we decided to live in Brazil until she got her green card. While I was there I taught English and perfected my Portuguese. I came back and started school again and have... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
