Great GPR San Diego VA Healthcare System
I know the process for finding good GPRs (or information about any of them) can be pretty difficult so I wanted to post about the VA San Diego General Practice residency program that I am currently finishing in two weeks, especially since it has not been mentioned as much as some on SDN. Listed below is information about the program and you can decide if it's right for you. I would describe my experience as being an incredibly well-rounded GPR program. It consists two separate 3 month... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

PCCM vs CCM Practice Models
I was just hoping to get some clarification on the general practice models for people interested in doing Pulm + Crit. I am interested in doing both. When I look at the CCM-only jobs, they're generally "7 on/7 off" or "~15 shift/month" which sounds very reasonable. But when I see job listings for Pulm + Crit, they're often somewhere closer to "2 weeks clinic + 1 week ICU," and it's not clear to me if the 4th week in the month is meant to be your off-week after the ICU, or if it's a 3... Whether to Include High School Shadowing Hours
Hello everyone! I am a junior in college and planning to apply this upcoming cycle (2022-23). I currently have ~50 hr at a general practice and ~50 hr of orthodontist. I also worked at a general & pediatric office as an assistant for ~450 hours. I have heard a lot about not including high school shadowing hours in my application, but I had about 300 hr at a general office junior and senior year of high school because I was applying to some 7-year programs (although I did not end up attending...
