A combined subcision approach with either fractional CO2 laser (10,600  nm) or cross-linked hyaluronic acid versus subcision alone in atrophic post-acne scar treatment
This study aims to compare the efficacy and safety of combined subcision with either fractional CO2 laser or cross-linked hyaluronic acid filler (HA) versus subcision alone in the treatment of facial atrophic post-acne scars. Forty patients with atrophic post-acne scars were subjected to subcision on both sides of the face, then were randomly divided into three groups. Group I (20 patients): subcision combined with cross-linked HA filler injection at one side of the face; group II (20 patients): subcision followed by fractional CO2 at the other side of the face; and group III (20 patients): with subcision only as a control...

A Single Center, Prospective, Randomized, Blinded Study to Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of a Topical Tripeptide/Hexapeptide Anhydrous Gel When Used Pre- and Post- Hybrid Fractional Laser for the Treatment of Acne Scars
CONCLUSION: The use of RSN pre- and post- laser resurfacing significantly decreased postprocedural TEWL and erythema, and increased aesthetic improvement in acne scars and patient satisfaction, when compared with bland moisturizer.PMID:36561095 | PMC:PMC9766513 | DOI:10.2147/CCID.S392459 (Source: Clinical, Cosmetic and Investigational Dermatology)

CO2 fractional laser combined with triamcinolone acetonide injection for the hypertrophic scars: which is first?
AbstractThe aim of this study is to investigate and analyze the effect of different application sequences of CO2 fractional laser and triamcinolone acetonide injection on the application effect of hypertrophic scar in one operation. Patients with hypertrophic scars who received CO2 lattice laser combined with triamcinolone acetonide injection from January 2021 to December 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. According to the different initial operations, they were divided into CO2 FL-TA group and TA-CO2 FL group. The Vancouver Scar Scale score and scar thickness of the two groups before and after treatment were analyzed. Th...

Treatment of actinic keratosis: a systematic review
Arch Dermatol Res. 2022 Dec 1. doi: 10.1007/s00403-022-02490-5. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTTreatment of actinic keratoses (AKs) can help lower the risk of eventual skin cancer and address field pre-cancerization. This review compares the different therapeutic options for actinic keratosis. Databases used include Medline, EMBASE, Web of Science and the Cochrane Library from inception to December 2019. Randomized control trials that were related to any approved or recognized treatment for actinic keratosis were included. 1186 studies were found, of which 80 with 6748 patients were included in the analysis. A network meta-...

Cancers, Vol. 14, Pages 5815: Feasibility of Intratumoral Anti-PD1 as Treatment of Human Basal Cell Carcinoma: An Explorative Study with Adjuvant Ablative Fractional Laser
e Hædersdal The use of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) is expanding with the approval for advanced/metastatic keratinocyte carcinoma; however, most tumors are non-aggressive. Local administration could broaden ICI, but adequate immune response might require an immune-attractive adjuvant such as ablative fractional laser (AFL). Accordingly, this study aimed to explore intratumoral injection of anti-PD1 with and without AFL in basal cell carcinoma (BCC), exploring anti-PD1 concentration, immune cell infiltration, tumor response, and safety. This open-label, proof-of-concept trial investigated intratumoral anti-PD1 + ...

Evaluating the Efficacy of Platelet Rich Plasma and 1550 nm Fractional Laser in Combination and Alone for the Management of Androgenetic Alopecia
In this study, we evaluated the efficacy and safety of PRP and 1550 nm fractional erbium-glass laser as monotherapy or combination treatment for AGA in 60 patients. All patients experienced improvement in AGA, but patients treated with the combination therapy had greater improvement in hair density. Overall, PRP and 1550 nm in combination or alone are good treatment choices for AGA, with no side effects.
