Implications of 2015 Budget on Graduate Entry Medicine
'Currently, students from families with annual incomes of £25,000 or less get the full grant of £3,387 a year...from 2016/17 academic year, we will replace maintenance grants with loans for new students...' [BBC] So it seems that in years 2-4 the tuition fee grant will be replaced by a loan, adding an additional 10K of debt onto the cost of GEM. Is this correct? And is there any other impications in the budget that could affect GEM courses? Many thanks. (Source: New Media Medicine)

GAMSAT revision material - help ?
Hi , I have just finished a Bsc in biomedical sciences and am looking to apply for graduate medicine 2016 entry. I am currently trying to sort out/organize how I am going to tackle GAMSAT revision but am getting overwhelmed by the amount of resources available (which ones to use ?) and the prices of some (lack of money funds from university). Was wondering if anyone could shed some light on which books/resources are good/not worth it and how you generally went about tackling GAMSAT revision? Thank you in advance ! GEM with a 2:2, is it still worth pursuing?
Hey all, I wasn't too sure where to post this, but have seen similar threads in the same vein placed here in the last few years. My situation is that I have just graduated with a 2:2 in psychology, 59.2% to be exact and I'm a bit gutted. although I am appealing this due to adverse final year circumstances, I am not expecting them to change my classification. This leaves my options to study medicine very limited, and I am unsure of the best path to take from this point. Given that I almost certainly will have to take the gamsat, I am planning to revise from now until March and take the exam in Ireland, hopefully achieving...

What path should I choose? Is it even possible?
Hello, I'm high school student from the Czech Republic. My dream is to study in the UK, especially medicine. If it won't be possible so at least practising it there. I'm here to ask you what path should I choose? I'm considering these paths: -- Get PMQ in the CR then go to FY1&FY2 and so on... (almost free for my so no financial problem) -- Study regular medicine in England (very expensive for me and I might not meet requirements to apply) -- Study regular medicine in Scotland (more expensive than in the CR, but I would be able to handle it) -- Study BcS in the UK then apply for: ------ GEP in UK (not sure how expensi...

General Overview of Irish Medical School Admissions
Hey everyone, I am a medical student from the USA studying in Ireland for the summer. I am doing a project on the differences between the Irish and American healthcare systems, but I can't seem to find much information on the general medical school application process for Irish students (not necessarily interested in applications from other EU countries, or non-EU countries, but if you'd like to provide that information it'd be great). I am mainly interested in a general overview of: Age in which one applies to medical schoolCompetitivenessTests/checks/interviews requiredCost of medical schoolLength of medical schoolClas...
