Fun little case discussion: fish in neck.
Not my case just something I found online on a spearfishing forum. Let's play what would you do? Teenager, healthy. No images, teen not in distress albeit nervous from you know, the giant ducking fish in his neck. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

WAMC, please? URIM, 3.83/3.89, 509?
Edits: tried to make it clear and concise!
Hey guys,
I'm pretty new to online forums and feel like a floundering fish looking at medical school lists. My prehealth advisor is also super swamped as many many advisors left recently, so I haven't heard back and I can't schedule a meeting.
Concerned: my "Reach" is too high? any bad reputation schools? any schools that low-key require more volunteering?
Undergrad: 3.857 (sGPA) and 3.91 (cGPA) ; honors student, summa cum laude
AMCAS: 3.83...

Pharmacist Diet Thread
Title says it all...just curious what others are doing...there's just so many factors to consider (personal health, climate/weather, costs, macronutrient/kcal goals, micronutrient goals, vitamin/mineral goals, food volume, variety in food groups consumed/balance, equipment, digestion, etc.)
Thinking of refining my diet with more emphasis on frugality and environment (plan on investing in an air fryer)...mostly frozen fruits and vegetables with fish (budget versions of oysters and salmon...

Any neurologists who enjoyed their surgical rotations more than medicine?
M3 still exploring neurology. On my rotation, sometimes I felt like a fish out of water since every neurologist I talked to loves medicine, hated the OR.
I really enjoyed neurology for the anatomy, 3D visualizations, imaging, and physical exam. I’ve also always loved and am a nerd for the nervous system. I always feel grateful studying it.
However, I only felt “alright” with my medicine rotation. I wasn’t super excited about analyzing abnormal labs, hormones, etc. in reference to every...

Owning Pets As a Pre-Vet
Hi everybody! I'm an incoming freshman at FSU who is definitely going Pre-Vet.
I'm frankly very nervous to jump into the major as most have known that they've wanted to be vets for their entire lives, but it's taken me lots of more time to really think about it and decide. I can't wait to get into the field and help animals.
I own a Deaf ferret named Felix (see my profile picture?) but he can't come up with me my first year. I think that I'm going to own a betta fish to have as a little...

Unconventional Extracirriculars
Hi all,
I am applying this cycle 2018-2019.
I want to know if my extracurricular activities are considered inadequate or unconventional? When I apply in June, 2018, I’ll have:
A. The unconventional part
(1) 7 years as a Cub Scout leader. I directly work with 7-10 kids and manage a pack of 30-50 kids and 3-7 other adult volunteers (other leaders).
(2) 6 years working experience in the veterinary field (as a vet assistant, technologist and manager). I got my state license as a vet tech in...
