The Expression of MAFB Gene in Circulating Monocytes Is Related to Chronic Inflammatory Status in T2DM Patients
In this study, we discovered that differentially ex pressed genes (DEGs) in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from T2DM patients were associated with innate immunity and chronic inflammatory responses through bulk transcriptome sequencing (bulk RNA-seq). Gene integration analysis revealed that nine DEGs were upregulated, and receiver operati ng characteristic (ROC) curve analysis revealed that V-maf musculoaponeurotic fibrosarcoma oncogene homolog B (MAFB), a candidate biomarker, has a certain predictive value for T2DM. In population-based cohort studies, we found that MAFB expression was significantly upregulated...

[ < sup > 99m < /sup > Tc]Tc-labeled HYNIC conjugated chlorambucil as a tumor targeting Agent: Synthesis, characterization and ex-vivo evaluation
Bioorg Med Chem Lett. 2024 Apr 5:129730. doi: 10.1016/j.bmcl.2024.129730. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTChlorambucil is an alkylating drug that finds application towards chemotherapy of different types of cancers. In order to explore the possibility of utilization of this drug as an imaging agent for early diagnosis of solid tumors, attempt was made to synthesize a 99mTc complex of chlorambucil and evaluate its potential in tumor bearing small animal model. HYNIC-chlorambucil (HYNIC is hydrazine nicotinamide) was synthesized by conjugation of HYNIC with chlorambucil via an ethylenediamine linker. All the intermediates and ...

Enhancement of antitumor response of staphylococcal enterotoxin C2 mutant 2M-118 by promoting cell-mediated antitumor immunity
CONCLUSION: 2M-118 promotes immune function and enhances antitumor response. This indicates that 2M-118 could potentially be developed as a novel anti-tumor drug with-highefficiencyandlowtoxicity.PMID:38581989 | DOI:10.1016/j.intimp.2024.111943 (Source: International Immunopharmacology)

DPY19L3 promotes vasculogenic mimicry by its < em > C < /em > -mannosyltransferase activity
In this study, we focused on DPY19L3, a C-mannosyltransferase, and aimed to unravel its role in VM. Knockout of DPY19L3 inhibited the formation of VM in HT1080 human fibrosarcoma cells. Re-expression of wild-type DPY19L3 recovered VM formation; however, DPY19L3 isoform2, an enzymatic activity-defect mutant, did not restore it, suggesting that the C-mannosyltransferase activity of DPY19L3 is crucial to its function. Furthermore, the knockdown of DPY19L3 in MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells hindered its network formation ability. Altogether, our findings suggest that DPY19L3 is required for VM formation and stipulate the releva...
