Yield of annual endometrial cancer surveillance in women with PTEN Hamartoma Tumor Syndrome
CONCLUSIONS: ECS in women with PHTS enables detection of a substantial number of asymptomatic premalignancies, such as hyperplasia with and without atypia, suggesting that ECS may be beneficial with regard to cancer prevention. The addition of EMB to TVUS likely improves the detection of premalignancies.PMID:37172779 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejmg.2023.104785 (Source: European Journal of Medical Genetics)

Clinical and metabolic characteristics of endometrial lesions in polycystic ovary syndrome at reproductive age
CONCLUSION: Obesity, prolonged menstrual cycle, decreased SHBG, and dyslipidemia are risk factors for EH in patients with PCOS. Oral contraceptives, progestogen and metformin are recommended for prevention and treatment of endometrial lesions in PCOS patients.PMID:37149578 | DOI:10.1186/s12905-023-02339-7 (Source: Cancer Control)

Association between endometrial senescent cells and immune cells in women with repeated implantation failure
ConclusionOur study indicates that the quantity of senescent cells in human endometrium during the mid-luteal phase has the strongest association with the amount of T helpers. Moreover, the specificity of this association might have an important impact on the occurrence of RIF. (Source: Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics)

Laparoscopic evaluation of female genital tuberculosis in infertility: An observational study
CONCLUSIONS: The finding of this study suggests that laparoscopy is a useful modality to diagnose FGTB with a higher pickup rate of cases. Hence it should be included as a part of composite reference standard.PMID:37102511 | DOI:10.4103/ijmr.ijmr_2498_21 (Source: Indian J Med Res)

Comparison of microbial profiles and viral status along the vagina-cervix-endometrium continuum of infertile patients
Syst Biol Reprod Med. 2023 Apr 27:1-10. doi: 10.1080/19396368.2023.2195040. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTFor decades, the endometrium was considered to be a sterile environment. However, now this concept is disputed, and there is growing evidence that microbiota composition might affect endometrial receptivity. Routine clinical management of infertility is still limited to a microbiological assessment of the lower reproductive tract. The purpose of this study was to compare the abundance of various bacterial, fungal, and viral species, qualitatively and quantitatively, in vaginal, cervical, and endometrial biomaterial of ...
