Characteristic of Endometrial Stromal Sarcoma by Algorithm of Potential Biomarkers for Uterine Mesenchymal Tumor
Curr Issues Mol Biol. 2023 Jul 25;45(8):6190-6201. doi: 10.3390/cimb45080390.ABSTRACTThe benign tumor uterine leiomyoma (UL) develops from the smooth muscle tissue that constitutes the uterus, whereas malignant tumor uterine sarcoma develops from either the smooth muscle tissue or stroma and is different from UL and endometrial cancer. Uterine sarcoma is broadly classified into three types: uterine leiomyosarcoma, endometrial stromal sarcoma (ESS), and carcinosarcoma. Although uterine leiomyosarcoma and ESS are both classified as uterine sarcoma, they significantly differ in terms of their sites of occurrence, symptoms, an...

Hysteroscopic biopsy compared with endometrial curettage to assess the preoperative rate of atypical hyperplasia underestimating endometrial carcinoma
ConclusionsEB performed by D&C lowers the rate of AH underestimating concurrent EC and improves the grading agreement when compared with hysteroscopic sampling. (Source: Archives of Gynecology and Obstetrics)

Practical lessons learned from real-world implementation of the molecular classification for endometrial carcinoma
CONCLUSIONS: Centralization of EC molecular classification is a feasible option for countries with limited resources. Optimization of workflows may be achieved by earlier analysis in biopsies and prioritisation of patients whose results imply changes in risk group classification.PMID:37453219 | DOI:10.1016/j.ygyno.2023.07.005 (Source: Gynecologic Oncology)

Does weight loss in women with obesity induce regression of endometrial hyperplasia? A systematic review
Eur J Obstet Gynecol Reprod Biol. 2023 Jun 28;288:49-55. doi: 10.1016/j.ejogrb.2023.06.028. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTObesity is a leading risk factor for endometrial cancer and its precursor, endometrial hyperplasia (EH). Currently, weight loss is recommended for people with EH and obesity, but evidence to guide weight management as primary or adjunctive therapy is limited. This systematic review aims to assess the role of weight loss in inducing histopathological regression of EH in women with obesity. A systematic search of Medline, PubMed, Embase and The Cochrane Library databases was conducted in January 2022. Stu...

Cancers, Vol. 15, Pages 3522: Diagnostic Potential of Endometrial Cancer DNA from Pipelle, Pap-Brush, and Swab Sampling
This study designed a panel targeting variants for EC-related genes, assessed its technical performance by comparing it with whole-exon sequencing, and explored the diagnostic potential of endometrial biopsies using the Pipelle aspirator, cervical samples using the Pap brush, and vaginal specimens using the swab from 38 EC patients and 208 women with risk factors for EC by applying targeted panel sequencing (TPS). TPS produced high-quality data (Q30 > 85% and mapping ratios > 99.35%) and was found to have strong consistency with whole-exome sequencing (WES) in detecting pathogenic mutations (92.11%), ...

GSE235951 Effect of chemotherapy on the uterus of young adult cancer survivors
Contributors : Tim Jenkins ; Deepika Garg ; Matthew Hodgman ; Sydney Reil ; Lesley Lomo ; Kenneth I Aston ; Jonathon Hill ; Erica Johnstone ; Joseph M LetourneauSeries Type : Methylation profiling by genome tiling arrayOrganism : Homo sapiensThis pilot study aimed to accomplish 3 distinct but related goals. First, we described the structural phenotype of uterine/endometrial injury after alkylating chemotherapy sonographically and histologically. Second, we investigated the molecular impact of alkylating chemotherapy exposure on messenger RNA expression and epigenetic changes in endometrial biopsy (EMB) tissue homoge...

GSE225913 Prediction of subclinical endometritis in postpartum dairy cows from circulating cell-free miRNA profiles
Contributors : Gon çalo Pereira ; Gilles Charpigny ; Yongzhi Guo ; Elisabete Silva ; Marta F Silva ; Tao Ye ; Luís Lopes-da-Costa ; Patrice HumblotSeries Type : Non-coding RNA profiling by high throughput sequencingOrganism : Bos taurusWe aim at identifying possible differences in miRNA profiles and individual circulating miRNA between healthy cows and cows with persistent inflammation as diagnosed by cytology and histology. Ultimately the miRNA profiles will be correslated with RNAseq results to be performed from endometrial biopsies (planned later on this year following laser micro dissection). Samples have bee...

Age- and endometrial microbiota-related delay in development of endometrial receptivity
CONCLUSIONS: Older age was accompanied by a decrease in Lactobacillus-dominant microbiota; aging and endometrial microbiota with ultralow biomass were significantly associated with pre-receptive endometrium. Our findings suggest that the quantity (rather than proportion) of Lactobacillus in the endometrium is important in the development of endometrial receptivity.PMID:37383030 | PMC:PMC10298046 | DOI:10.1002/rmb2.12523 (Source: Reproductive Biology)

Laparoscopic evaluation of female genital tuberculosis in infertility: An observational study
CONCLUSIONS: The finding of this study suggests that laparoscopy is a useful modality to diagnose FGTB with a higher pickup rate of cases. Hence it should be included as a part of composite reference standard.PMID:37202937 | DOI:10.4103/ijmr.ijmr_2498_21 (Source: Indian J Med Res)
