Cancer screening hasn't rebounded to prepandemic levels
Preventive health screenings, including those for screening mammography, have not rebounded to pre-COVID-19 pandemic levels, a new study published February 2 in JAMA Health Forum found. Unions to campaign for Labour ’ s ‘ new deal for working people ’
UNISON members will be joining other trade unionists across the country this weekend, taking to the streets to campaign for Labour’s ‘new deal for working people’. The new deal is a comprehensive plan to improve the lives of working people by strengthening individual and collective rights – benefitting public service workers across the UK. It is the culmination of years of joint work between the party and its affiliated trade unions, like UNISON. It flows from motions passed and priorities raised through the unions’ democratic structures, over decades of Tory government attacks on rights at work. Saturday an...

Unfair tribunal fees plan shows government is out of ideas, says UNISON
Commenting on the launch of a government consultation into tribunal fees, UNISON general secretary Christina McAnea said: “The government should be tackling the real issues the country faces, not trying to pick another fight with working people. “The fact that ministers want to reheat a failed and illegal policy shows that this is a government that ran out of ideas some time ago and needs to step aside. “Tribunal fees denied the poorest and most vulnerable access to justice. The only people who would benefit from their reintroduction are unscrupulous bosses. “When UNISON forced the fees to be scrapped in 2017, the...
