Interdisciplinary pain rehabilitation for patients with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and hypermobility spectrum disorders
CONCLUSION: This study suggests that patients with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome/hypermobility spectrum disorders may benefit from inclusion in an interdisciplinary pain rehabilitation programme.PMID:38323531 | PMC:PMC10863620 | DOI:10.2340/jrm.v56.12431 (Source: Journal of Rehabilitation Medicine)

The Effect of Joint Hypermobility Syndrome on DOMS and Recovery Time
CONCLUSION: Individuals with JHS may experience greater DOMS and require more time to recover between treatment sessions. Therapists need to be aware that patients with hypermobility may experience higher pain levels related to exercise, and they need to adjust treatment parameters appropriately.LEVEL OF EVIDENCE: 2b.PMID:38313665 | PMC:PMC10837814 | DOI:10.26603/001c.91644 (Source: Physical Therapy)

Cardiovascular Symptoms, Dysautonomia, and Quality of Life in Adult and Pediatric Patients with Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome: A Brief Review
CONCLUSION: While studies have examined cardiovascular symptoms and the impact of dysautonomia in adults with and without hEDS, there is scant literature on dysautonomia in pediatric patients with hEDS. Therefore, more studies on cardiovascular symptoms and dysautonomia, as they relate to the quality of life in pediatric patients with hEDS, are needed. This brief review summarizes the current literature on dysautonomia and cardiovascular symptoms in pediatric and adult populations with hEDS.PMID:38275067 | DOI:10.2174/011573403X271096231203164216 (Source: Current Cardiology Reviews)

Exploring the biopsychosocial impact of hypermobility spectrum disorders and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome in an adult population: a protocol for a scoping review
DiscussionThis review will aim to explore the existing literature for the reported biopsychosocial impact of adults with a HSD or EDS. It will also aim to further acknowledge the gaps in understanding of the condition, how the condition and the impact of the condition is being measured and what HCPs are involved in supporting such individuals. These gaps will be used to inform a future systematic review. It is the overall goal to increase the knowledge of HCPs and the quality of life of adults living with a joint hypermobility condition. Characterizing a new clinical phenotype: the co-existence of cerebral venous outflow and connective tissue disorders
ConclusionThere is a rare but conserved clinical phenotype that has not been described previously that presents with severe IIH symptoms in predominantly young, non-obese Caucasian women with a high associated incidence of dysautonomia, POTS, craniocervical instability, and CSF leaks, among others.
