Chemoenzymatic Synthesis of Tri-antennary  N-glycans Terminating in Sialyl-Lewisx Reveals the Importance of Glycan Complexity for Influenza A Virus Receptor Binding
We report here a chemoenzymatic strategy for the preparation of a panel of twenty-two isomeric asymmetrical tri-antennary N-glycans presenting SLex-Lex epitopes on either the MGAT4 or MGAT5 arm that include putative high-affinity ligands for E-selectin. The N-glycans were prepared starting from a sialoglycopeptide isolated from egg yolk powder and took advantage of inherent substrate preferences of glycosyltransferases and the use of 5'-diphospho-N-trifluoracetylglucosamine (UDP-GlcNHTFA) that can be transferred by branching N-acetylglucosaminyltransferases to give, after base treatment, GlcNH2-containing glycans that temp...

The kinetics of goat sperm is negatively affected after freezing in an extender including zinc oxide nanoparticles
CONCLUSION: The addition of Np-ZnO (200 ug/mL) to the goat semen freezing extender improved the total motility of cells, whilst negatively affecting sperm kinetics. https://doi.org/10.54680/fr24210110512.PMID:38557988 (Source: Cryo-Letters)

Chinese herb ultrafine powder supplementation improves egg nutritional value and quality in laying hens
This study evaluates the effects of dietary Chinese herb ultrafine powder (CHUP) supplementation in late-phase laying hens on the quality and nutritional values of eggs. A total of 576 Xinyang black-feather laying hens (300-day-old) were randomly allocated into eight groups for a 120-day feeding trial. Each group contained eight replicates with nine hens per replicate. The experimental groups included the control (basal diet) and different levels of CHUP groups (details in 'Materials and methods'). The results showed that the eggshell strength was increased (p < 0.05) in the L, LF, L-LF, L-T, and LF-T groups on day 60 o...
