Importance of Thank You Letters
How important are thank you letters when it comes to OMFS residency match. Can they influence the rank list? Obviously, I can't imagine they hurt you but can they help? Specialising in the US - setting up to minimise tax
In other countries, if you work as a dentist as an independent contractor, you can control when you pay yourself. So, say you earned 300k in a year before specializing, and then went and did a 3 year specialty where you won't make any money. You could use your company to pay you 100k a year over the 3 years. This allows you to pay much less in tax than you would if you earned 300k in the first year, and then 0 dollars a year for the next few years.

Predental Advisory Programs - Are They Worth It?
As a freshman in college looking to apply to dental school, there isn't a lot of advice coming from my college health advisory office. I think I'm going to need to seek help elsewhere. I have no dentists in the family or as family friends to ask, and I can only ask so much of the doctors I shadow before becoming annoying. Merit Scholarships and HPSP
I am in the process of applying for HPSP for the Army and I was awarded a 10k merit scholarship for each year of dental school. Has anyone been in the situation where they received a merit scholarship as well as HPSP? Does the scholarship get sent to my student account and the Army pays for the remaining balance or does the Army pay for the tuition in its entirety and I get to keep the 10k? Practicing OMFS under MD in CA
I am finishing up my 6 year program on the east coast, and planning on moving to California after graduation. However, I took ADEX before the merge, so I would need to retake the ADEX exam to get my dental license in California.
On the Dental Board of CA website, it says I could apply for an OMFS Permit with my MD and dental license issued by another state. I am currently licensed in the state I am completing my program in. Does anyone know if there any downsides or limitations to...
