Readjustment of Capsule Endoscopy Protocols to the COVID-19 Pandemic in a Portuguese Tertiary Center
CONCLUSION: The performance measures and patient satisfaction were similar among the protocols analyzed for MiroCam capsule endoscopy. Thus, the readjustment of this capsule endoscopy system, which favors a reduction in hospital stay, appears to be a good alternative to the former protocols in this pandemic era. In contrast, the rate of complete exams was significantly inferior in the adapted protocol to the pandemic era for PillCam Crohn capsule endoscopy, disfavoring its maintenance in the clinical practice.PMID:35879914 | DOI:10.5152/tjg.2022.21574 (Source: The Turkish Journal of Gastroenterology)

Self-reported Treatment Goals in Chinese Patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease During the Coronavirus Disease 2019 Pandemic
CONCLUSION: Our survey showed that inflammatory bowel disease patients pay more attention to the improvement of quality of life and few drugs during the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic. There are some related factors such as the type of disease, the course of dis- ease, the frequency of hematochezia, and defecation. Our results help clinicians understand the patients' treatment goals, which can contribute to better management of inflammatory bowel disease patients.PMID:35879912 | DOI:10.5152/tjg.2022.21180 (Source: The Turkish Journal of Gastroenterology)

Laparoscopic surgery for complex Crohn ’s disease: perioperative and long-term results from a propensity matched cohort
ConclusionIn the setting of complicated Crohn ’s, in matched cohorts, laparoscopic surgery is associated with reduced operative times and LOS. Mortality, reoperation, and symptomatic hernia rates were equivalent to open surgery. Patients undergoing laparoscopic surgery are less likely to experience postoperative sepsis. Betamethasone Dipropionate Derivatization, Biotransformation, Molecular Docking, and ADME Analysis as Glucocorticoid Receptor
Biomed Res Int. 2022 Jul 6;2022:6865472. doi: 10.1155/2022/6865472. eCollection 2022.ABSTRACTBetamethasone is an important glucocorticoids (GCs), frequently used to cure allergies (such as asthma and angioedema), Crohn's disease, skin diseases (such as dermatitis and psoriasis), systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatic disorders, and leukemia. Present investigation deals to find potential agonist of glucocorticoid receptors after biotransformation of betamethasone dipropionate (1) and to carry out the molecular docking and ADME analyses. Biotransformation of 1 was carried out with Launaea capitata (dandy) roots and Musa acu...

Postoperative results and complications of fecal diversion for anorectal Crohn ’s disease
ConclusionFecal diversion for refractory anorectal Crohn ’s disease can improve clinical symptoms. Patients with rectal involvement or loop-type stoma have a greater risk of requiring proctectomy following fecal diversion. The administration of biologic may decrease the rate of proctectomy.
