Analysis of Factors and T-Lymphocyte Subset Changes in Pediatric Recurrent Respiratory Infections Post-Pidotimod Treatment
CONCLUSIONS: Daily outdoor activity among children, family members' history of smoking, parental allergy history, education level, and micronutrient intake emerged as independent factors influencing pediatric RRTIs. Furthermore, PI was identified as a significant treatment option for RRTIs.PMID:38607220 (Source: Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine)

Clinical course of mild-to-moderate idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis during therapy with pirfenidone: Results of the non-interventional study AERplus
CONCLUSIONS: The results of this study are in line with the established benefit-risk profile of pirfenidone. Therefore, pirfenidone can be considered a valuable treatment option to slow disease progression in mild-to-moderate idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Difference of Esophageal Motility and Reflux Characteristics in Patients with Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) and Chronic Cough (CC) and the Impact of Standardized Drug Therapy
This study aimed to explore the difference between esophageal motility and reflux characteristics in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and chronic cough (CC) and the effect of standardized drug therapy. Eighty-four patients diagnosed with GERD in The First People's Hospital of Hangzhou from December 2020 to December 2022 were enrolled in this study. They were divided into an observation group (Obs group, patients with GERD + CC, n = 26 cases) and a control group (control group, patients with typical GERD, n = 58 cases). Reflux symptom integral questionnaire, cough symptom integral questionnaire, high-res...

Symptoms predictive of Fusobacterium necrophorum pharyngotonsillitis – an observational study of cases presenting to hospitals in Southern Sweden
ConclusionOur results suggest thatF. necrophorum cases presenting to hospitals might be better distinguished from other pharyngotonsillitis cases by a simple scoring system presented, with age 13 –30 being the strongest predictor forF. necrophorum. Prospective studies, involving primary care settings, are needed to evaluate generalisability of findings beyond cases presenting to hospitals. Association of Interleukins 17A and 17F Gene Polymorphism with Asthma: A Case Control Study in North Indian Population
This study involved 150 cases with asthmatics and 150 healthy controls. Asthmatic pat ients were confirmed by Spirometry and other clinical parameters. The genotype frequencies observed for all genes in controls were in Hardy Weinberg Equilibrium (HWE). The results suggested that the asthmatics of the same height and age had lower weight and higher smoking rate in comparison to contr ols. The asthmatics displayed cough, breathlessness, congestion, disturbed sleep, headache, and wheezing. These parameters were found to be significantly elevated in asthmatics. Excepting Hb, levels of blood eosinophils, AEC, TLC and serum IgE...
