opting out of certain procedures in pre clinic
i currently work in a practice alongside OD students. i have gotten a corneal abrasion both times that i let the student practice goldman on me. I am extremely anxious about letting a student practice gonio on me. is this common? should i just suck it up and just deal with the abrasions each time or request to be excused from acting as the patient for these procedures, due to sensitive corneas? Blindsided I really don’t understand how these companies get away with this stuff. Charging $1300 for a patient with a lac you call a plastic surgeon to fix or a corneal abrasion is just insane. Makes us all look bad. (Source: Student Doctor Network)
