A Baltimore startup that hopes to simplify cornea transplants won the top prize at the second Johns Hopkins University FastForward U Innovation& Entrepreneurship Challenge.
Eyedea Medical competed against 50 other student-run startups to win the grand $30,000 Bisciotti Foundation Prize for Student Entrepreneurship at the competition last month. Wichita's Kansas Eye Bank partners with KC-based Saving Sight
A Wichita eye bank has partnered with a similar nonprofit organization with the mission of restoring vision to people needing corneal transplants.
The Kansas Eye Bank and Cornea Research Center has become Kansas Eye Bank, a division of Saving Sight. Saving Sight is based in Kansas City, Mo., and has four other locations in the Midwest.

CorneaGen announced Thursday that Tom Frinzi, formerly worldwide president of Johnson& Johnson Vision, joined its board of directors.
