Coconut oil prolongs life in peroxisomal disorders
(University of Bonn) 'Lorenzo's Oil' was to help a seriously ill boy suffering from a peroxisomal disorder (adrenoleukodystrophy/ALD). The true story was turned into a film which made the rare disease well known.
