Comparison of pyrolysis gasification of livestock manure, food wastewater, and their co-digested sludge
This study compared the pyrolysis characteristics of LM, FW, and DS. The product content varied with the pyrolysis temperature, rate of temperature increase, reaction time, and final reaction temperature. Gas production from FW and DS was similar; however, gas production from LM was low. As the pyrolysis temperature increased, the H2 content increased, and the CO2 content decreased, respectively. At 1000°C, the H2 content of LM increased to 45%, and FW produced the most gas but the lowest H2 content. The H2/CO ratios of LM and FW ranged from 3.5 to 5.2, while those of DS ranged from 5.5to 12.4, with the highest values. Th...

Prediction of deleterious non-synonymous SNPs of human MDC1 gene: an in silico approach
Syst Biol Reprod Med. 2024 Dec;70(1):101-112. doi: 10.1080/19396368.2024.2325699. Epub 2024 Apr 17.ABSTRACTMDC1 (Mediator of DNA damage Checkpoint protein 1) functions to facilitate the localization of numerous DNA damage response (DDR) components to DNA double-strand break sites. MDC1 is an integral component in preserving genomic stability and appropriate DDR regulation. There haven't been systematic investigations of MDC1 mutations that induce cancer and genomic instability. Variations in nsSNPs have the potential to modify the protein chemistry and their function. Describing functional SNPs in disease-associated genes ...

A Triply Linked  Copper(III) Dicarbacorrole Dimer
Chemistry. 2024 Apr 17:e202401240. doi: 10.1002/chem.202401240. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTA triply linked dicarbacorrole dimer (7) was synthesized from a new meso-meso singly linked dicarbacorrole dimer precursor (6) via an oxidative fusion reaction by 2,3-dichloro-5,6-dicyano-p-benzoquinone (DDQ) in the presence of trifluoromethanesulfonic acid (TfOH). Single crystal X-ray structure of 7 adopts a flat conformation with a length as ca. 15.946 Å and a width as 6.903 Å, which can be regarded as a short carbaporphyrinoid tape. Two coordinated Cu ions keeps the +3 oxidation state in 7, as confirmed by NMR spectroscopy, s...

Structural Chemistry of Titanium (IV) Oxo Clusters, Part 2: Clusters Without Carboxylate or Phosphonate Ligands
Chemistry. 2024 Apr 17:e202400744. doi: 10.1002/chem.202400744. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTHomometallic titanium oxo clusters (TOC) are one of the most important groups of metal oxo clusters. In a previous article, TOC structures with carboxylato and phosphonato ligands were reviewed and categorized. This work is now extended to clusters with other ligands. Comparison of the different cluster types shows how the interplay between condensation of the titanium polyhedra by means of bridging oxygen atoms and the coordination characteristics of the ligands influences the cluster structures and allows working out basic const...

Current Developments in Emerging Lanthanide-doped persistent luminescent scintillators and their applications
Chemistry. 2024 Apr 17:e202303661. doi: 10.1002/chem.202303661. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTLanthanide-doped scintillators have the ability to convert the absorbed X-ray irradiation into ultraviolet (UV), visible (Vis), or near-infrared (NIR) light. Lanthanide-doped scintillators with excellent persistent luminescence are emerging as a new class of persistent luminescent materials recently. They have attracted great attention due to their unique "self-luminescence" characteristic and potential applications. In this review, we comb through and focus on current developments of lanthanide-doped persistent luminescent scinti...
