Gluten-induced Neurocognitive Impairment: Results of a Nationwide Study
Conclusions: This survey suggests that GINI is common and may be severe in both individuals with CD and NCGS. Cognitive impairment and decline in physical functioning may be similar to that occurring in other illnesses, such as lupus. Clinical follow-up with both individuals with CD and NCGS should include assessment of GINI symptoms. Further research is warranted, including the development of a patient-reported outcome measure including neurocognitive effects of gluten exposure. (Source: Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology)

Phytochemical Components and Human Health Effects of Old versus Modern Italian Wheat Varieties: The Case of Durum Wheat Senatore Cappelli
In conclusion, old wheat Italian varieties, and in particular the Senatore Cappelli genotype, are characterized by multiple nutraceutical specificities that could suggest their use for health-promoting purposes. Additional research is needed to confirm these findings, focusing attention also on the effect of different environments and years.PMID:35807959 | DOI:10.3390/nu14132779 (Source: Atherosclerosis)

MiR-1290: a potential therapeutic target for regenerative medicine or diagnosis and treatment of non-malignant diseases
AbstractMicroRNAs are a set of small non-coding RNAs that could change gene expression with post-transcriptional regulation. MiRNAs have a significant role in regulating molecular signaling pathways and innate and adaptive immune system activity. Moreover, miRNAs can be utilized as a powerful instrument for tissue engineers and regenerative medicine by altering the expression of genes and growth factors. MiR-1290, which was first discovered in human embryonic stem cells, is one of those miRNAs that play an essential role in developing the fetal nervous system. This review aims to discuss current findings on miR-1290 in dif...

Postoperative recurrent patterns of gallbladder cancer: possible implications for adjuvant therapy
CONCLUSION: The recurrence and metastasis rates are high in GBC and adjuvant therapy is needed. Up to 75% of the recurrent cases occurred in the potential target volume of postoperative radiotherapy, suggesting that postoperative radiotherapy has the possible value of improving local-regional control. The potential target volume of radiotherapy should include the tumor bed, No.8, No.9, No.11, No.12, No.13, No.14, No. 16a2, No. 16b1 lymph node groups.PMID:35799270 | DOI:10.1186/s13014-022-02091-6 (Source: Cancer Control)

Gene Expression Signatures Reveal Common Virus Infection Pathways in Target Tissues of Type 1 Diabetes, Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, and Celiac Disease
Front Immunol. 2022 Jun 20;13:891698. doi: 10.3389/fimmu.2022.891698. eCollection 2022.ABSTRACTType 1 diabetes (T1D) patients are at heightened risk for other autoimmune disorders, particularly Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT) and celiac disease (CD). Recent evidence suggests that target tissues of autoimmune diseases engage in a harmful dialogue with the immune system. However, it is unclear whether shared mechanisms drive similar molecular signatures at the target tissues among T1D, HT, and CD. In our current study, microarray datasets were obtained and mined to identify gene signatures from disease-specific targeted tissues...
