Atrial Fibrillation and Clonal Hematopoiesis in TET2 and ASXL1
CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE: Large TET2 and ASXL1, but not DNMT3A, CHIP was associated with higher IL-6 level, indices of cardiac remodeling, and increased risk for AF. Future research is needed to elaborate on the mechanisms driving the associations and to investigate potential interventions to reduce the risk.PMID:38598228 | DOI:10.1001/jamacardio.2024.0459 (Source: Atherosclerosis)

Determinants of health status in older patients with transthyretin cardiac amyloidosis: a prospective cohort study
CONCLUSIONS: Functional status is a determinant of quality of life and health status in older individuals with a main diagnosis of ATTR-CA. Future research may provide more in-depth knowledge on the association of frailty in patients with ATTR-CA with respect to quality of life and prognosis.PMID:38598143 | DOI:10.1007/s40520-024-02750-6 (Source: Aging Clinical and Experimental Research)

HTD4010 attenuates myocardial injury in mice with septic cardiomyopathy by promoting autophagy < em > via < /em > the AMPK/mTOR signaling pathway
CONCLUSION: HTD4010 can attenuate myocardial injury in SCM mice possibly by promoting autophagy via modulating the AMPK/mTOR signaling pathway.PMID:38597442 | DOI:10.12122/j.issn.1673-4254.2024.03.12 (Source: Journal of Southern Medical University)

A Case of Cardiomyopathy Associated with CD36 Deficiency: Role of < sup > 18 < /sup > F-Fluorodeoxyglucose Positron Emission Tomography in the Diagnosis
Intern Med. 2024 Apr 9. doi: 10.2169/internalmedicine.3253-23. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTWe herein report a patient with type I CD36 deficiency. The patient was initially suspected of having isolated cardiac sarcoidosis based on the presence of non-sustained ventricular tachycardia, delayed myocardial enhancement on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and diffuse accumulation of 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG) on cardiac positron emission tomography (PET). Our findings suggest that the diagnosis of cardiomyopathy associated with CD36 deficiency is often missed, highlighting the importance of a differential diagnosis of ...

Patient With Gender Dysphoria Diagnosed With Multiple Sclerosis Following Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy and Ventricular Arrhythmia: A Case Report and Systematic Literature Review
In this report, we also systematically reviewed published cases of takotsubo cardiomyopathy and MS and found that basal type takotsubo cardiomyopathy was the most common, and most patients presented with brainstem involvement of MS. An awareness of these associations by physicians, along with multidisciplinary collaboration, may facilitate the early diagnosis and improve the prognosis of these patients.PMID:38599863 | DOI:10.2169/internalmedicine.3442-23 (Source: Internal Medicine)
