Comparison of exenatide alone or combined with metformin versus metformin in the treatment of polycystic ovaries: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common cause of anovulatory infertility in women of childbearing age. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) have reported that exenatide and metformin are effective i... (Source: BMC Endocrine Disorders)

Adolescents with obesity treated with exenatide maintain endogenous GLP-1, reduce DPP-4, and improve glycemic control
ConclusionWeekly s.c. injections with 2 mg of exenatide maintains endogenous total GLP-1 levels and lowers circulating DPP-4 levels. This adds an argument in favor of using exenatide in the treatment of pediatric obesity.Clinical trial registrationclinicaltrials.gov, identifier NCT02794402 (Source: Frontiers in Endocrinology)

Effects of GLP-1 agonists and SGLT2 inhibitors during pregnancy and lactation on offspring outcomes: a systematic review of the evidence
Conclusion/interpretationWe found evidence for adverse offspring effects of GLP-1 agonists and SGLT2 inhibitors also in human studies. Our findings broadly support the advice to discontinue GLP-1 agonists and SGLT2 inhibitors during pregnancy and lactation, and also support the ongoing registration of pregnancy outcomes in pharmacological databases since the amount of available data is scarce and mostly limited to animal studies.Registrationhttps://www.crd.york.ac.uk/prospero/display_record.php?RecordID=219877 (Source: Frontiers in Endocrinology)

Predictors of glycemic and weight responses to exenatide in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus
ConclusionBaseline HbA1c, baseline weight, and duration of diabetes may serve as predictors for glycemic and weight responses to exenatide. (Source: International Journal of Diabetes in Developing Countries)

Insulin Glargine is More Suitable Than Exenatide in Preventing Muscle Loss in Non-Obese Type 2 Diabetic Patients with NAFLD
Conclusion Compared to exenatide, insulin glargine can relativity increase PMA in patients with T2DM having BMI<28 kg/m2 and NAFLD. Design of experiments approach for the development of a validated method to determine the exenatide content in poly(lactide-co-glycolide) microspheres
Eur J Pharm Biopharm. 2023 Sep 30:S0939-6411(23)00259-X. doi: 10.1016/j.ejpb.2023.09.016. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTDue to the lack of pharmacopeia guidelines for injectable microspheres based on poly (D, L-lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA), an internal method validation is a critical prerequisite for quality assurance. One of the essential issues of developing peptide-based drugs loaded PLGA microspheres is the precise determination of the amount of peptide drug entrapped in the microspheres. The aim of this study is the development and optimization of a method for measuring the drug content loading of PLGA microspheres us...
