MiRNA Signatures Related to Invasiveness and Recurrence in Patients
With Non-Functioning Pituitary Neuroendocrine Tumors
Conclusion: This prospective pilot study selected a unique miRNA
expression profile, that correlates with invasiveness and recurrence in
non-functioning pituitary neuroendocrine tumors. Moreover, some of the selected
miRNAs are reported for the first time in patients with this disease, shedding
light on the molecular mechanisms involved in pituitary pathogenesis. The
identified miRNAs demonstrate potential as biomarkers, deserving further
investigation in a larger cohort to validate their clinical applicability. [...] Georg Thieme Verlag KG Rüdigerstraße 14, 704...

Cancers, Vol. 16, Pages 1489: Availability and Access to Orphan Drugs for Rare Cancers in Bulgaria: Analysis of Delays and Public Expenditures
This study aimed to explore the availability and access to orphan drugs for rare cancers in Bulgaria for the period of 2020–2023. We cross-compared data from both the European Union and national public sources to evaluate the number of available and accessible orphan drugs for rare cancers, the delay from market authorization to reimbursement, the dynamics of public expenditures, and regional disparities in access across the country. We juxtaposed the main characteristics of oncological and non-oncological orphan drugs as well. Only 15 out of 50 oncological orphan drugs that were authorized by the European Me...

Resurgence of respiratory syncytial virus with dominance of RSV-B during the 2022 –2023 season
ConclusionThis study revealed a strong resurgence of RSV in the autumn of 2022 after the lifting of anti-COVID-19 measures, the leading role of RSV as a causative agent of serious respiratory illnesses in early childhood, and relatively low genetic diversity in circulating RSV strains. Most recent university campuses follow the North American model, built on city limits or countryside, with large separate buildings in open green spaces. Studies suggest that the prevalence and severity of mental health issues among university students has been increasing over the past decade in most countries. University services were ...
