Gliding Brow Lift (GBL): A New Concept
ConclusionThe “gliding brow lifting” (GBL), which combines subcutaneous frontal undermining with minimal incisions, elevation and reshaping of eyebrow and use of a temporary cutaneous fixation with hemostatic net (Net), allows effective, long-lasting results with low rates of complications and satisfactory re sults.Level of Evidence IVThis journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article. Safety of Concurrent Endoscopic Browlift and Blepharoplasty
The objective of the study was to evaluate the clinical safety of endoscopic browlift alone or in combination with blepharoplasty as a treatment for the aging face. This is a retrospective comparative study from 2007 to 2016 at a single tertiary care center. A consecutive sample of patients undergoing surgery for aging of the upper face was included in the study. Surgeries deemed to be inclusive were endoscopic browlift, upper blepharoplasty, and lower blepharoplasty. In total, 46 patients undergoing endoscopic browlift with concurrent blepharoplasty were included. Patient demographics, past medical history, follow-up, and...

Simplified Lateral Brow Lift under Local Anesthesia for Correction of Lateral Hooding
Conclusions: The limited incision lateral brow lift as described allows for safe elevation of the lateral brow. When complemented by upper blepharoplasty, this technique provides excellent and natural-appearing rejuvenation of the upper face. (Source: Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Global Open)

Postoperative Care of the Facial Plastic Surgery Patient —Forehead and Blepharoplasty
Facial plast Surg 2018; 34: 570-578 DOI: 10.1055/s-0038-1676354In any kind of surgery, postoperative care is essential for a good result, but especially when the matter at stake is facial plastic surgery. Despite having performed a perfect surgery, with the least amount of damage to the soft tissues and osteocartilaginous structures, minimal bleeding, and in terms of the surgical time, without adequate postoperative care our results can be affected considerably in the short and long run. Therefore, we must have very clear guidelines regarding postoperative care and the duties of our patients, which should be emphasized dur...

Plastic Surgery for Women.
Abstract Plastic surgery is a broad field, including maxillofacial surgery, reconstruction after injuries, hand surgery, and skin flaps and grafts, but the most common procedures for women are liposuction and body contouring, breast surgery, and facial cosmetic procedures. Techniques of face and brow lifts, blepharoplasty, and rhinoplasty are discussed as well as botulinum toxin and filler injections, and laser and pulsed light techniques that may delay or eliminate the need for surgery. Comparison of the surgeries for breast reconstruction, reduction, augmentation, and mastopexy is discussed. New surgerie...

A Contemporary and Novel Use of Thyroid Cartilage for Structural Grafting in Aesthetic Rhinoplasty : A Case Report
This case report details a 21-year-old transgender female who underwent concomitant trichophyllic brow lift with frontal bone reduction, tracheal shave (aka thyroid chondroplasty), and rhinoplasty, for facial feminization in conjunction with her transitioning process. During her rhinoplasty (like many others), harvesting cartilage for structural grafting is often necessary and this is typically done from a distant, unrelated surgical site. During this case, cartilage from the thyroid lamina was utilized in structural grafting in the form of a columellar strut. (Source: Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery)

Complications in Brow Lifts: A Systemic Review of Surgical and Nonsurgical Brow Rejuvenations
Conclusion: Our study shows that each brow technique has a different complication profile, and it is important for plastic surgeons to understand the difference. Furthermore, the study demonstrated the lack of randomized prospective outcome studies and standardization of outcome measures in brow rejuvenation. We believe this information would be the key and next frontier in providing technically safe and long-lasting aesthetic outcomes for the patients. Eyebrow Position and Shape Favored by Korean Women
Conclusion: This study shows that HWR gradually decreases and TOA increases with age. Furthermore, Korean women's preferred eyebrows have an HWR of ∼1:1 and a TOA of ∼10°. These results could guide plastic surgeons performing periorbital rejuvenation surgeries, including brow lifts, not only for Koreans but also for North-East Asians. Upper Blepharoplasty: Management of the Upper Eyelid and Brow Complex via Transblepharoplasty Approach
Facial plast Surg 2018; 34: 183-193 DOI: 10.1055/s-0038-1636918Upper blepharoplasty is one of the more common facial plastic procedures. The upper lid and brow complex are managed together. Whether upper blepharoplasty is performed for medical or cosmetic reasons, the aim is to improve appearance while retaining natural shape and maintaining (or improving) function. For optimal results, it is important to understand relevant eyelid anatomy and the concept of maintaining youthful volume and position of the eyelid brow orbit complex. Management of patient expectations, meticulous planning, and a degree of surgical finesse al...
