Bilateral and synchronous male breast cancer: a case report
Int J Clin Exp Pathol. 2023 Nov 15;16(11):352-356. eCollection 2023.ABSTRACTGenetic mutational characterization of synchronous bilateral male breast cancer (BC) has been poorly reported due to its rarity. Herein, we present a 55-year-old male patient who was diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer (BBC) and harbored different gene mutations. The diagnosis of synchronous bilateral breast cancer (SBBC) was made using ultrasonography, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), mammography and core-needle biopsy. Subsequently, bilateral modified radical mastectomies were performed, and histopathologic examination revealed invasive ducta...

An overview of B coding of breast core biopsy categorisation and management implications
The United Kingdom National Health Service Breast Screening Programme proposes five B categories for reporting breast screening needle core biopsies. The system is also recommended for symptomatic patients and diagnostic vacuum-assisted biopsies. Usually over 90% of biopsies are categorised as normal (B1), benign (B2) or malignant (B5). B3 is a heterogeneous group including atypical intraductal proliferations, classical lobular neoplasia, papillary lesions, radial scars, cellular fibroepithelial lesions and some rarer lesions. Nodal positivity in patients with clinically and radiologically node-negative breast cancer treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy: multicentre collaborative study
CONCLUSION: The rate of sentinel lymph node positivity in patients who achieve a radiological complete response in the breast is exceptionally low for all molecular subtypes.PMID:38055888 | DOI:10.1093/bjs/znad401 (Source: The British Journal of Surgery)

Breast Health Awareness: Understanding Health-Seeking Behavior in Western Kenya
ConclusionsSuccessful uptake of CBE through the ABCCCP is the first step to introduce breast health awareness (BHA). Benefits of broad advertisements for health fairs in promoting BHA may be limited to a single event. Poor rates of repeat examinations and diagnostic testing of abnormal CBEs indicate additional resources should be allocated to educating patients, including about possible treatment trajectories for breast cancer.
