GSE245725 Double ratio of microRNA signatures as promising diagnosis biomarkers for mucinous borderline and malignant ovarian tumors
In this study, miRNA expres-sion profiling generates using FFPE patient samples followed by qRT-PCR validation allows to identify 10 down-regulated and 5 up-regulated miRNAs between Malignant and Borderline tumors. To overcome issues linked to data normalization and to improve the accuracy of the results, a ratio analysis combining up-regulated and down-regulated miRNAs was used. Alt-hough 21/50 miRNA expression ratio were significantly different between Malignant and Bor-derline tumor samples, any ratio could perfectly discriminate the two groups. However, a combination of 14 miRNAs expression ratio (double ratio) showed ...

Hirsutism as the initial presentation of malignant ovarian Leydig cell tumor: A case report
We report a case of 24-year-old virgin female who was referred to our hospital after being diagnosed with steroid cell tumor-not otherwise specified. Prior to her admission, the patient had been treated unsuccessfully with oral contraceptive pills due to male-pattern facial hair growth, abdominal cramps, and irregular menstrual cycle. Lack of improvement warranted further investigations. Hormonal studies showed an elevated total testosterone, dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate, and morning fasting cortisol. Ultrasonography and computed tomography confirmed the presence of a large pelvic mass with mixed solid and cystic compone...

Pure Laparoscopic Associating Liver Partition and Portal Vein Ligation for Staged Hepatectomy (ALPPS) for a Giant Hepatocellular Carcinoma ( & gt;  15 cm) Abutting the Liver Hilum
ConclusionThe use of MIS for in 2-stage ALPPS procedure for giant HCCs larger than 10  cm is technically feasible and safe when attempted in high-volume centres by experienced surgeons, while benefiting from the advantages of MIS liver resection. (Source: Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery)

OvaPrint ™ - a cell-free DNA methylation liquid biopsy for the risk assessment of high-grade serous ovarian cancer
Conclusions OvaPrint™ is a highly sensitive and specific test that can be used for the risk assessment of HGSOC in symptomatic women. Prospective studies are warranted to validate OvaPrint™ for HGSOC and further develop it for non-HGSOC EOC histotypes in both symptomatic and asymptomatic women with adnexal masses.PMID:37812492 | DOI:10.1158/1078-0432.CCR-23-1197 (Source: Cell Research)
