The relationship between childhood emotional abuse and borderline personality disorder: the mediating role of difficulties in emotion regulation among Lebanese adults
ConclusionThis work suggests that, among the different forms of childhood abuse, emotional abuse may have a role in the development of Borderline Personality Disorder. Training on emotion regulation strategies would potentially benefit individuals in preventing BPD development and facilitating therapeutic processes. Using GIMME to model the emotional context of suicidal ideation based on clinical data: From research to clinical practice
This study explored the feasibility and clinical utility of GIMME applied to examine the relationships between various emotions and SI among individuals with borderline personality disorder who underwent Dialectical Behavior Therapy. We present graphic outputs that emerged throughout treatment and discuss how they could aid clinical assessment and case formulation (ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT03123198.).PMID:37980875 | DOI:10.1016/j.brat.2023.104427 (Source: Behaviour Research and Therapy)

Psychometric properties of the Hungarian childhood trauma questionnaire short form and its validity in patients with adult attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder or borderline personality disorder
ConclusionsOur study confirmed the psychometric properties of the H-CTQ-SF, an easy-to-administer, non-invasive, ethically sound questionnaire. In aADHD patients without comorbid BPD, low levels of traumatization in every CTQ domain were comparable to those of healthy control individuals. Thus, the increased level of traumatization found in previous studies of aADHD might be associated with the presence of comorbid BPD. Our findings also support the role of emotional neglect, emotional abuse and sexual abuse in the development of BPD. (Source: Borderline Personality Disorder and Emotion Dysregulation)

Effective management of patients with borderline personality disorder in a busy acute inpatient ward using dialectical behaviour therapy principles
CONCLUSIONS: The inpatient environment is often a place where invalidating experiences can occur. These include feeling ignored, misunderstood and where private experiences are trivialised or denied. Patients with BPD are extremely sensitive to these experiences and are likely to decompensate if strategies are not in place to facilitate a more validating experience during admission. The proposed guidelines are feasible to implement and support a cohesive treatment team and collaborative patient-centred care which is likely to improve patient outcomes.PMID:37965756 | DOI:10.1177/10398562231209822 (Source: Australasian Psychiatry)
