Resident Memory T Cells in the Atherosclerotic Lesion Associate With Reduced Macrophage Content and Increased Lesion Stability
CONCLUSIONS: TRM cells, characterized by the expression of CD69 and CD49α, constitute a minor population in atherosclerotic lesions and are associated with increased lesion stability in a Hobit and Blimp-1 knockout mouse model.PMID:38634281 | DOI:10.1161/ATVBAHA.123.320511 (Source: Atherosclerosis)

Hematological toxicities post-CAR-T cells: Recommendations of the Francophone Society of Bone Marrow Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (SFGM-TC)
Bull Cancer. 2024 Apr 16:S0007-4551(24)00119-X. doi: 10.1016/j.bulcan.2024.02.013. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTChimeric antigen receptor T cell (CAR-T cell) therapy has become a standard-of-care for several hematological and a promising treatment for solid malignancies or for selected non-malignant autoimmune disorders. Hematological complications following this treatment are very common with the majority of patients experiencing at least one cytopenia after CAR-T cell injections. The management of these adverse events is not standardized and represents an area of active research and unmet clinical needs. This harmonizat...

Characterization of early markers of disease in the mouse model of mucopolysaccharidosis IIIB
ConclusionsTogether, these results indicate disease markers are present as early as the first two weeks postnatal in this model. Further, this model recapitulates social, sensory and fear-related clinical features. Our study using a mouse model of MPS IIIB provides essential baseline information that will be useful in future evaluations of potential treatments. (Source: Journal of Neurodevelopmental Disorders)

Characteristic phenotypes of ADH5/ALDH2 deficiency during childhood
Eur J Med Genet. 2024 Apr 15;69:104939. doi: 10.1016/j.ejmg.2024.104939. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTADH5/ALDH2 deficiency is a rare inherited syndrome characterized by short stature, microcephaly, delayed mental development, and hematopoietic dysfunction and has recently been proposed as a disease paradigm. Acute and severe presentations include aplastic anemia, myelodysplastic syndrome, or leukemia, requiring bone marrow transplantation during childhood. Conversely, non-hematological manifestations may exhibit a prolonged and nonspecific clinical trajectory, with growth failure and developmental delay, most of which ar...
