Analysis of the Bacterial Spectrum and Key Clinical Factors of Biliary Tract Infection in Patients with Malignant Obstructive Jaundice after PTCD
CONCLUSION: Biliary tract infections following PTCD for MOJ were principally due to Escherichia coli, and bacteria in the bile were statistically more likely to be detected in patients with complete obstruction and high preoperative bilirubin levels.PMID:35942130 | PMC:PMC9356864 | DOI:10.1155/2022/1026254 (Source: Disease Markers)

Bile duct injury, experience from 3 years in a tertiary referral center
CONCLUSIONS: The referral to a specialized center for proper management is the key to a satisfactory recovery in this type of patients. Establishing protocols for prompt care will help reduce morbidity and mortality.PMID:35944471 | DOI:10.24875/CIRU.21000040 (Source: Cirugia y Cirujanos)

Common bile duct diameter by age groups in adult patients without bile duct pathology
CONCLUSIONS: The diameter of the common bile duct in adult patients without biliary pathology is greater at older age.PMID:35944397 | DOI:10.24875/CIRU.20001391 (Source: Cirugia y Cirujanos)

Oligomerization of the HBV/HDV functional receptor NTCP expressed in Sf9 insect cell
CONCLUSION: Dimer is the predominant form of NTCP expressed in Sf9 when solubilized with detergent. FRET and Co-IP analysis support that NTCP forms oligomers in Sf9 cell.GENERAL SIGNIFICANCE: Our results showed that NTCP formed oligomers in Sf9 cell. Meanwhile the FRET analysis of NTCP variants further elucidated the molecular mechanism of NTCP oligomerization.PMID:35944837 | DOI:10.1016/j.bbagen.2022.130224 (Source: Biochimica et Biophysica Acta)
