Thrombectomy using AlphaVac for left atrial thrombus causing mechanical mitral valve obstruction and cardiogenic shock
We present a 73-year-old female with history of rheumatic heart disease status post-mechanical mitral valve on warfarin, valvular atrial fibrillation, and alpha thalassemia who was admitted to an outside hospital with anterior ST-segment myocardial infarction. Coronary angiogram showed occluded left anterior descending artery (LAD) with acute thrombus status post-thrombectomy and balloon angioplasty.PMID:37992325 | DOI:10.25270/jic/23.00154 (Source: The Journal of Invasive Cardiology)

Burr entrapment in a percutaneous coronary intervention during rotational atherectomy: An experience with 3195 cases
CONCLUSIONS: Burr entrapment occurred in 0.69% of patients who had undergone RA. Most burrs were extracted by a strong manual pullback. None required emergency surgery, and there were no in-hospital deaths. The results provide a treatment approach and prognosis for burr stuck in the use of RA.PMID:37984323 | DOI:10.25270/jic/23.00174 (Source: The Journal of Invasive Cardiology)
