Association of radiocephalic arteriovenous anatomical markers with post-angioplasty blood flow volume
CONCLUSION: Among the AMs readily available during PTA, first MLD and then SP provided satisfactory results in predicting VF.PMID:38173248 | DOI:10.1177/02841851231223006 (Source: Acta Radiologica)

Fatal superior vena cava rupture complicating dialysis catheter exchange
In this report, we describe a case of a 25-year-old woman who presented with an extensive history of multiple dialysis access failure for left internal jugular vein central venous tunneled catheter exchange. The procedure was complicated by a fatal superior vena cava rupture likely related to the dislodgment of the guidewire causing perforation into the pericardium space with subsequent cardiopulmonary collapse. The post-mortem autopsy showed severe organized stenosis of SVC and transmural defect above the SVC/atrial junction.PMID:38166439 | DOI:10.1177/11297298231219288 (Source: The Journal of Vascular Access)

Rotational atherectomy combined with cutting balloon to optimise stent expansion in calcified lesions: the ROTA-CUT randomised trial
CONCLUSIONS: Combining RA with CBA resulted in a similar minimum stent area compared with RA followed by NCBA in patients undergoing PCI of moderately or severely calcified lesions. RA followed by CBA was safe with rare procedural complications and few clinical adverse events at 30 days.PMID:38165112 | DOI:10.4244/EIJ-D-23-00811 (Source: EuroIntervention)

Laser ablation on vascular diseases: mechanisms and influencing factors
AbstractVascular diseases, such as venous insufficiency and coronary artery diseases, have been threatening the health of people. Efficient treatment with proper postoperative care is required to relieve the pain of the patients. Traditionally, venous insufficiency is treated with ligation and stripping, an open surgery whose complication rate cannot be ignored. Coronary artery disease is often treated with balloon angioplasty during which undilatable lesions may be encountered, limiting the efficacy of this approach. With advances in laser photonics and percutaneous coronary intervention procedure, laser ablation is emerg...

Aspiration thrombectomy versus stent-retriever thrombectomy for the first-pass therapy of ICAS-related large vessel occlusion: A post-hoc Analysis of RESCUE BT Trial
CONCLUSIONS: Both aspiration thrombectomy and stent-retriever thrombectomy can be considered as primary therapeutic options for patients presenting with ICAS-LVO in the anterior circulation.PMID:38151175 | DOI:10.1016/j.wneu.2023.12.101 (Source: Atherosclerosis)

Arterial revascularization in patients with hand pain dialyzing with upper arm Arteriovenous (AV) fistulas: A single center experience
CONCLUSIONS: DHIS with occlusive arterial disease can be successfully revascularized to improve symptoms. Complete evaluation of the inflow arterial segment and optimal endovascular revascularization could decrease the need for access revision procedures or access abandonment.PMID:38142277 | DOI:10.1177/11297298231214032 (Source: The Journal of Vascular Access)
