Blocking group 2 innate lymphoid cell activation and macrophage M2 polarization: potential therapeutic mechanisms in ovalbumin-induced allergic asthma by calycosin
CONCLUSIONS: Collectively, this study showed that calycosin might attenuate OVA-induced airway inflammation and remodeling in asthmatic mice via preventing ILC2 activation and macrophage M2 polarization. Our study might contribute to further study of asthmatic therapy.PMID:38650035 | DOI:10.1186/s40360-024-00751-9 (Source: BMC Pharmacology and Toxicology)

Blocking group 2 innate lymphoid cell activation and macrophage M2 polarization: potential therapeutic mechanisms in ovalbumin-induced allergic asthma by calycosin
Calycosin, a flavonoid compound extracted from Astragalus membranaceus, has shown anti-asthma benefits in house dust mite-induced asthma. Recent studies have suggested that innate-type cells, including group 2 in... (Source: BMC Clinical Pharmacology)

Activates B lymphocytes and enhanced immune response: A promising adjuvant based on PLGA nanoparticle to improve the sensitivity of ZEN monoclonal antibody
Talanta. 2024 Apr 9;274:126005. doi: 10.1016/j.talanta.2024.126005. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTIn preparing monoclonal antibodies by hybridoma cell technology, the quality of B lymphocytes used for cell fusion directly affects the sensitivity of monoclonal antibodies. To obtain B-lymphocytes producing high-quality specific antibodies for cell fusion during the immunization phase of the antigen, we prepared a TH2-Cell stimulatory delivery system as a novel adjuvant. Astragalus polysaccharide has a good ability to enhance antigenic immune response, and it was encapsulated in biocompatible materials PLGA as an immunostimul...

Molecules, Vol. 29, Pages 1691: The Antioxidant Action of Astragali radix: Its Active Components and Molecular Basis
Yongqi Liu Astragali radix is a traditional medicinal herb with a long history and wide application. It is frequently used in prescriptions with other medicinal materials to replenish Qi. According to the classics of traditional Chinese medicine, Astragali radix is attributed with properties such as Qi replenishing and surface solidifying, sore healing and muscle generating, and inducing diuresis to reduce edema. Modern pharmacological studies have demonstrated that some extracts and active ingredients in Astragali radix function as antioxidants. The polysaccharides, saponins, and flavonoids in Astragali radix offer b...

In this study, we investigated the effects of Astragalus membranaceus polysaccharide (APS) and Astragalus membranaceus ethanol extract (AEE) on age-related intestinal dysfunction and gut microbiota dysbiosis in naturally aging mice. The energy expenditure and physical activity of 23-month-old C57BL6/J mice were recorded using a metabolic cage system. Pathological changes in the intestine were evaluated using Alcian blue staining. The protein levels of leucine-rich repeats containing G protein-coupled receptor 5 (Lgr5) and Stat3 in the small intestine were determined using immunohistochemistry. The intestinal cell migration...

Formononetin Restrains Tumorigenesis of Breast Tumor by Restraining STING-NF- κB and Interfering with the Activation of PD-L1
CONCLUSION: Formononetin can restrain the proliferation of BC cells, which may be mediated through the interference of PD-L1 and suppression of the activation of the STING-NF-κB pathway.PMID:38531802 | DOI:10.24976/Discov.Med.202436182.58 (Source: Discovery Medicine)
