J & J ’ s DePuy Synthes launches Purevue visualization system
Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) subsidiary DePuy Synthes said today it launched the Purevue visualization system imaging platform designed for minimally invasive endoscopic surgery.
The newly launched system combines a light source, image processor and local image management, looking to reduce the equipments footprint in the operating room, DePuy said. The system also includes an autoclavable camera head, touch-screen navigation and customizable settings for minimally invasive surgery applications.

Medicare expands reimbursement for EndoGastric Solutions EsophyX device
EndoGastric Solutions said today that a Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services administrator granted reimbursement coverage for its EsophyX device for treating gastroesophageal reflux.
National Government Services extended coverage for transoral incisionless fundoplication using the EsophyX device to some 9.3 million patients in Connecticut, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont and Wisconsin effective Dec. 1.

FDA expands indication for Attune Medical ’ s Enso esophageal temperature management device
Attune Medical said today that it won an expanded indication from the FDA for its Enso esophageal temperature management device.
Formerly known as Advanced Cooling Therapy, Chicago-based Attune said the new indication covers extended duration of use for up to 72 hours.
The triple lumen system is designed to be inserted into the esophagus, with two lumens attached to existing temperature modulation equipment and third providing gastric decompression and drainage. The device first won de novo clearance from the federal safety watchdog in June 2015.
