Struggling to Choose a focus area
Hi everybody! I am a first-year student who is currently struggling to choose which area of vet med interests me the most. I know I want to practice small animal medicine, but enjoy learning about all of our domestic species. I would like to be able to do advanced surgical techniques for the clinic that hires me after I graduate (TPLO, arthroscopies, etc.), as well as continually learn more about diagnostic ultrasound techniques. I know things might change as I progress through the program... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

How technical of a procedure is hip FAI surgery?
I'm curious how technical/difficult of a procedure a hip arthroscopy for FAI + labral tear is- specifically is it one of those procedures where there is a lot to gain from seeing a surgeon who does them in high volume (more niche) or more of a generic procedure that many sports medicine fellowship trained surgeons can do well? I appreciate your input. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Choosing Surgical Specialty with Orthopedic Issues..
I am very interested in surgery, but have several medical issues, such as De Quervian and Carpal Tunnel, and have had arthroscopic elbow and knee surgery and back surgery. I am able to stand fine and my surgeons have told me it should be okay but I am worried about longevity with these wrist conditions and possibly back condition (surgery went fine) . Standing if anything is better than sitting often for me. However, in a field that uses hands so much, i am worried that with de quervian... Choosing Surgical Specialty with Orthopedic Issues..
