Three-Dimensional Modeling of a Pulmonary Artery Catheter in the Coronary Sinus: A Rare Case of Left Persistent Superior Vena Cava and Absence of Right Superior Vena Cava
PULMONARY artery catheters (PACs) provide advanced hemodynamic information in patients undergoing cardiac surgery.1 Although variable among institutions, close to 40% of patients undergoing coronary or valvular surgery underwent PAC placement in the United States from 2010 to 2018.2,3 PAC placement is not without risk, the most common complications being hematoma (4%), arterial puncture (3%), infections, and arrhythmias needing intervention.4 To avoid the most lethal complications associated with PAC placement, an accurate and detailed understanding of vascular anatomy, including recognizing congenital venous anomalies, is...

True ulnar artery aneurysm in the upper arm: A case report and literature review
CONCLUSION: This is a rare case of such a diagnosis in the absence of a history of arterial puncture or trauma. This case demonstrates the value in obtaining detailed imaging in the work-up to aid operative decision making. We highlight the thought processes on the table in our approach to this aneurysm and report a favourable post-operative outcome at follow up.PMID:36912072 | DOI:10.1177/17085381231164453 (Source: Vascular)

Hemodialysis vascular access in prone position for critically ill patients with ARDS
CONCLUSIONS: We demonstrate that in our study hemodialysis non-tunneled catheter placement in the prone position is safe and effective. We believe this practice could be frequently used in the near future and represent an opportunity window for the training of interventional nephrologists and related areas.PMID:36895170 | DOI:10.1177/11297298231157106 (Source: The Journal of Vascular Access)

Iatrogenic arteriovenous fistula in the brachial artery after percutaneous coronary intervention in a patient with end stage kidney disease
J Vasc Access. 2023 Mar 1:11297298231158427. doi: 10.1177/11297298231158427. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTIatrogenic arteriovenous fistula (AVF) is a complication accompanying venous and arterial puncture. Herein we report a case of ligation closure of an iatrogenic AVF in the brachial artery after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for the patient with end-stage kidney disease (ESKD). A 68-year-old woman presented with a history of several coronary angiographies (CAG) and PCI through the right brachial artery. After PCI, the patient experienced a thrill in the right elbow. Two years later, the patient initiated hem...

Clampless 2 Device: Experimental study of a lateral aorto-prosthetic anastomosic device without clamping or suturing
To offer an alternative to conventional techniques of lateral prosthetic anastomosis on arteries which require a long training, and impose an extensive open surgery, we are proposing the Clampless 2 device (C2D) implanted by a simple arterial puncture and allows a lateral implantation of a PTFE vascular graft in an artery, without arterial clamping or suture.
