A prospective analysis of two studies that used the 5-mm interval slices and 5-mm margin-free method for ipsilateral breast tumor recurrence after breast-conserving surgery without radiotherapy
CONCLUSIONS: Our "5-mm-thick slice and 5-mm free-margin" method may be effective to select patients who can be treated by breast-conserving surgery and hormone therapy without radiotherapy.PMID:36175750 | DOI:10.1007/s12282-022-01406-5 (Source: Breast Cancer)

Persistence with tamoxifen and aromatase inhibitors in Germany: a retrospective cohort study with 284,383 patients
CONCLUSION: Overall, the present study indicates that persistence rates are low in all age groups for both TAM and AI treatment. We found several factors (e.g., physician specialty, younger age, and type of endocrine therapy) to be associated with an increased risk for non-persistence.PMID:36149512 | DOI:10.1007/s00432-022-04376-5 (Source: Clinical Breast Cancer)

Trajectories of neuropsychological symptom burden in postmenopausal women prescribed anastrozole for early-stage breast cancer
ConclusionThis study found relationships among neuropsychological symptom measures and distinct trajectories of self-reported NSB with pre-anastrozole predictors. Identifying symptom trajectories and their predictors at pre-anastrozole may inform supportive care strategies via symptom management interventions to optimize adherence for women with HR  + BC. A Case of Brachial Lymph Node Recurrences after the Resection of Locally Advanced Breast Cancer
We present a case of two recurrences in the brachial lymph nodes after initial resection, which was performed for radical cure. A 66-year-old woman was diagnosed with left breast cancer T4bN3cM0 Stage IIIC and an immunohistochemistry assay showed estrogen receptor (ER) positivity (5%), progesterone-receptor (PgR) positivity (1%), human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (HER2) positivity (3+), and low Ki-67 (15%). After four courses of adriamycin and cyclophosphamide, followed by four courses of trastuzumab plus docetaxel, the patient underwent left mastectomy and axillary dissection. Postoperatively, she was diagnosed wit...

The Effect of Anastrozole on the Lipid Profile: Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials
Clin Ther. 2022 Aug 25:S0149-2918(22)00282-X. doi: 10.1016/j.clinthera.2022.08.003. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTPURPOSE: We aimed to investigate the impact of anastrozole administration on the traditional components of the lipid profile (ie, total cholesterol [TC], LDL-C, HDL-C, and triglycerides [TGs]) by means of a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.METHODS: We searched the PubMed/Medline, Scopus, Embase, and Web of Science databases for relevant randomized controlled trials published in the English language until January 18, 2022. The weighted mean difference (WMD) and 95% CIs were cal...

Treatment patterns and clinical outcomes in patients with metastatic breast cancer treated with palbociclib-based therapies: real-world data in the Han population
CONCLUSIONS: Various palbociclib-based regimens have promising efficacy in ER+ metastatic breast cancer in real-world settings, even in patients who had been pre-treated with everolimus.PMID:35984107 | DOI:10.1097/CM9.0000000000002240 (Source: Cancer Control)
