I run a dilator program for women with rectal or anal cancer where I educate patients about the need for and correct use of vaginal dilators to mitigate the effects of radiation on the vaginal wall. Many women don’t understand the need for dilators after radiation for this cancer, so I always start with a description of the anatomy and the rationale for the use of dilators. The FDA Approves a New HPV Vaccine Containing Over Twice as Much Aluminum As its Predecessor
According to recent reports, the FDA has approved yet another HPV vaccine, despite documented safety issues and the new vaccine containing an exceptionally high level of aluminum, a known neurotoxin.
Until now, only two vaccines have been manufactured to protect men and women against human papillomavirus (HPV), a virus believed to be the leading cause of cervical cancer: Cervarix, which is believed to protect against strains 16 and 18 of the virus, and Gardasil, which is believed to protect against strains 6, 11, 16 and 18.

Many readers will probably be aware that actress and model Farrah Fawcett died in 2009 of anal cancer. But a recent update from Cancer Research UK revealed that anal cancer rates in the UK have increased by nearly 300% over the last 40 years. The increase is much higher in women than in men, rising from 4 in a million to 18 in a million for females (4 to 12 in a million in males). Presumably, similar increases are seen elsewhere in other countries.

How to reduce the risk of oral cancer
The fact that cunnilingus increases a man’s risk of developing oral cancer has been all over the Internet recently with Michael Douglas’ disclosure that he had an HPV-positive tumor.
To recap: some strains of human papilloma virus (HPV) are oncogenic, meaning they induce changes in a cell’s DNA that can lead to cancer. The same strains of HPV that are oncogenic in the genital tract for women, causing both cervical cancer and anal cancer, can also wreak havoc on cells in the oral cavity. As an aside, HPV can also cause anal cancer for men.

As ASCO wraps up, docs are talking about cancer research while patients are talking about HPV and throat cancer
ASCO is the American Society of Clinical Oncology. It's the biggest professional cancer conference that draws a huge international crowd in Chicago every year. The city of Chicago sees a huge surge of tourism activity around this conference every summer.
In somewhat unrelated news, CBS published a story about Michael Douglas, his throat cancer, and HPV - the virus that causes cervical cancer, penile cancer, vulvar cancer, anal cancer, and oral cancers.
