Advice on mentioning misdiagnosis and alternative medicine on Personal Statement?
Hi, I’m currently in the process of writing my personal statement. A large part of my reason to go into medicine was that my sister had intense chronic pain that for a long period of time, she was diagnosed differently by multiple doctors and treatments were never effective. I had not heard of this till today, where a patient with worsening anxiety and her mother were convinced they needed holistic healing methods..They do things like IV vitamin replacement therapy and charge patients 4,000 for MRIs essentially...Ironically it was started by an actual psychiatrist (though a very controversial one to say the least) and now he has a chain of these. MMI Scenario Commonalites?
For those that have been to MMIs in the past, do schools ever use very similar scenarios to the common "practice ones" you see online (birth control, jehovah witness, alternative medicine, organ donation, etc), or at least ones with similar themes? Do you believe in energy medicine
I ran across a few articles about alternative medicine and I want to ask if any of you believe in energy medicine. I think a lot of medical professionals would compared "energy medicine" as "alternative medicine" and any alternative medicine has placebo effect in the body. Haloterapy Opinions and Haloterapy Devices
Hi CF community This group is great and helped us a lot. I'm a parent of a recently diagnostic CF 8 year old girl. She had two positive sweat tests and we are waiting for the mutation test results.
