Psychiatric dermatologic conditions?
I'm doing a little powerpoint for a preceptor on title. I was just wondering if I missed anything. So far I have psychiatric parasitosis, body dysmorphic disorder, factorial dermatitis, neurotic excoriations and acne excorie, brimhydroso phobia, trichotillomania, onchotillomania, lichen simplex chronicus, and prurigo nodularis. Is there anything else I am missing that is psychologically related where a patient may end up in a Derm's office? Thanks (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Interested in derm
Hi guys, I just started my first year at a top DO school. As a decade long acne patient, I have always wanted to be a dermatologist. I know this is really really hard as a DO, and even an MD. But is there anything you guys think I can start doing now to at least have a chance? I know connections help a lot, as well as research. Looking for any tips you guys can give, especially since step 1 will be P/F for me. Thank you! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Dentists Prescribing Retin A
Hi All, Maybe a stupid question here, but I recently had a patient ask me if I could prescribe Retin A for acne scarring..just curious is this something we as dentists can do? It is topical and it is usually used on the face...I’ve personally also had it prescribed to help with acne scarring(by a dermatologist). FWIW I am a practicing dentist and I’m pretty strict about sticking with antibiotics and pain control prescriptions, but this patient’s request got me thinking. Thanks so much! OT: Wearing a Mask Is Improving My Skin!
I know, it's incredible! Everyone else I talk to says the opposite, they are getting acne and allergic bumps and whatnot. But since wearing a mask all the time (and since it's required in IL when out in public, I am wearing a mask all the time outside my house,) my skin has cleared up, no fine wrinkles, no acne, no allergic bumps, my skin tone is much more even (instead of blotchy,) I even have what I think is a healthy glow, my skin has never looked this good! I'm going to keep wearing a... OT: Wearing a Mask Is Improving My Skin! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

The mid level threat to derm
Should I be afraid? I have heard that the hoards of cosmetologists and PA’s will soon come charging down the hills claiming to be able to cure your acne and skin conditions. Do people who are actually involved in dermatology believe that this will be a threat to salary/ patient number in the foreseeable future?
